Trav was no help... 😂
So what do I buy?!?!
B8 and B8.5 Audi a5 quattro 2.0t with a manual could be built up to 450hp and Look really good if done right
u can get an si from the 8th gen back the 8th gen is the last generation of si that have V-TECH on the intake and exhaust cams after the 8th gen they only have it on one of them
I've got a 2004 350Z I'd sell ya for under 10k ... but ... it's the roadster. That's probably as helpful as Trav was.
I’d say the mustang
Mustang or c5 corvette
I’m a mechanic, and to be honest with you, just don’t buy a car with the cylinders going sideways. boxer engines are garbage unless you’re one of those diehard Subaru guys that replaces everything inside the engine to make it not explode. Cylinders should go up and down - just my 2 cents
Love the feedback. I'm now on my 3rd 911 and never had issues with the motors... so maybe I've just been lucky. I do LOVE the sound of subaru's, but maybe I'm asking for pain in the future?! Who knows :)
Porsche???
Yeah no lies. My homie had at least 40k dumped into his STI has been getting build for 3 years 😭😭 STAY SWAY
@@IdealMediaChannel it’s only because subie makes open deck blocks. Porsches are closed
Just build the Subaru engine closed deck and it’s fine. Stock they are open but most people waste their money and rebuild without closing the deck blocks
2000-2004 Mustang would be really nice, or an E36 M3 would be great as well!
Ehh s50 yeah not s52
had a 98 mustang, and i can tell you its super easy to work on and the parts are cheap while being easy to come by
2000-2006 Silverado standard cab with the V8. LS already installed ready for turbo (s). Tons of aftermarket support and they can handle. It's different and can be a real sleeper.
I say go for the 86. It's probably got the most versatility to mod it however you want for whatever purposes that you want the car to do. Drift, check. Autocross, check. Daily, check. Drag would probably be the least applicable, but hey... rebuilt engine, forged internals and 26 lbs of boost can do any car wonders.
Pahahaha yeah you got that right 😂
...04 thru 06 Pontiac GTO. LS power, manual transmission and you don't see them everyday. They're a little heavy but they haul ass, don't break and are super comfortable...
for anyone wondering you can find blown frs/brz for 3-6 grand and easily ls swap for 1-2 grand totaling 8-9 still cheaper than say 15 grand for the slow boxer flat 4s that are known for being impossible to hit 400+ whp without blowing up.
An mk1 or mk2 Audi TT would also be a good pick
Ohhh that slipped my mind! which gen do you like better?
@@IdealMediaChannelmk1
@IdealMediaChannel b5 s4 is super slept on, it's reliable once you do a full upgraded refresh
You should get a 986 Porsche Boxster
That WOULD be ideal!
You posted this at the perfect time . I been looking into this for the last few days
Bro I'm so hype you guys are going to go thru all of this. I love cars and never worked on one but if you guys are going thru every from the start maybe I'll pick up some tips.
All good picks guys. I when with 2013 Audi A6 3.0T Quattro PP. So far I have stage 1 APR, full APR carbon fiber intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Software upgrades. More to come like suspension and other engine upgrades...So I can race it and take the family with me anywhere anytime everyday! Can you do that with any of your sports cars?
1: C5, lightweight, fast as it gets stock, usable daily, track ready
2: GTO 6.0, C5 but 4 doors, forgotten sleeper
3: Catfish: Yes stock a Coyote is superior, but 0$ left to mod and mods will run more
You can take a v6 and try to make it sounds like a flat 6 by doing some sort of "180" degrees headers and change the "firing" order
06-09 mustang gt 4.6L 3 Valve. I bought mine for 5k it had 140k miles and a manual transmission. 300 hp stock and they sound amazing
yeah those v8's do sound so good!
Guys! Kaleb here, ideal cars strategies alumni and long time supporter of you all. Brad I really think you should go for the BMW or the TOYBURU! Fans that truly love driving and building cars of their own could use a lesson or two that you will teach us along the way and those car builds will stay relevant for years and years to come. The other options might be neat. But ideal is what we want and that's the M3 or the 86.
Kaleb! Thanks for all your support! Definitely in the top 2 for my pick I think! Still can't decide tho because all good options!
The mustang reminds me of the good ol’ days. But, I can’t wait to see what gets here next week. Hah
Love my 08'3.5SE 6MT BAE, most fun daily!❤
My first car was a 1992 mazda mx 3. i love it. I still have it at my garage but i am not driving it anymore. But would love to see someone build with one of those so maybe i can make it my own project car too
I bought my daughter who just turned 16 a BMW 2005 325i e90 new it cost $72,000 aud now 20 years later it cost just $7500 it was owned by an old guy who has all the service history he gave it to his grandson just a few months ago and all he did was put on some sweet mag wheels with smaller front tyres that cost $250 each and the back larger ones cost $325 each they are so bloody tiny I hate these stupid tyres as you hit a pot hole and they pop. I drive a 1965 Chrysler Valiant AP6 and my tyres cost $400 for 4. My car also costs over $40,000 and goes up in value yearly. Still this BMW is just a really great car for a first car. It’s got a sun roof and it runs great. I have to get some plastic pieces around the front and back windscreens fixed as the back one has come off and I had to just put it back in place but it must be fixed so it doesn’t leak and end up rusting out some part of the car. It’s red as well and my baby loves it so much.
either M3 or Cobra
I've owned a few M3's... but never a Cobra... hmmmm
FOR EVERY LIKE I WILL DO 0 PUSHUPS
Wait a minute 😂
Finally someone who’s honest
My brotha
Ok man 54 likes, that means you have 0 pushups to do! Get to work!
How about dislikes
So I would totally dig doing a cobra build. If you want the teksid block though you have to get a 96 through 98 and I really like the 99 to '04 style better. Also, if you get a teksid block, they're going to have the older b heads. So even though there wasn't a lot of intake manifolds to choose from it's going to limit your choice on that. Or if you put a pd supercharger on it, you'll be really limited. Also, what I think would be cool is if you could find a way to use a 5'4. I remember years ago I read about a guy who was able to fit a 5.4 4 valve in a crown Vic but I'm sure the engine bay is bigger in those but as I remember it was just the deck height. That was the problem and he had to use special engine mounts that drop the engine like 2 in or something. Also, even though you're saying that there's not as many problems with the FRS, I would be pretty scared about using that Subaru engine but I have seen a lot of cool supercharger interprecharger kits for it. Although I would do the later one with the two four if possible and the dual injection
I personally am working towards getting a c4 corvette which are under 10k for most of them and it’s my dream car right now
What good engines can you swap into the Toyota FRS? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience on that🤔
K swap
7:15 Love mine but definitely one that has seen an increase in price over the years. I’m biased but I think its entered legendary status!
They definitely are!
I’ve always had a soft spot for E36 M3. Btw the film work’s so good I feel like I got a new phone!
LETS GO!
My vote is for a Mazdaspeed Miata, I picked up my 04 unmolested with 102k miles for 9500 and it is awesome, only thing to modify is ceramic coat the exhaust manifold and it spools much better and it’s a blast to drive and handles great
Definitely an ideal car! you loving it? those are 2 year cars and super special!
@@IdealMediaChannel loving it 100% I work on euros for a living and just finished working on a BMW M Roadster and I much prefer my Mazdaspeed MX5
Instead of m3, go with the 328is instead, same transmission, same engine with a smaller bore (Only in the US), and no dealing with the bad valve springs the s52's have
Does it have the same suspension setup as the m3?
@@aviram2441 I believe m3's have bigger brakes, thicker sway bars, different sway bar endlinks, and an LSD. That being said, all of these can be swapped into a 328 easily and cheap. Also, because the m3 bolts the sway bar endlinks to the strut and not the body like on the 328, there is a limit on how thick of a sway bar you can run on the m3.
350z or the Cobra. But honestly the NC Miata would be a great pic that you don't see a lot.
Yeah I'm sorta leaning towards that NC!
NC miata is very underrated would love to see one on the channel as I've got one as my first rwd car
ohhhh! how do you like it?
I definitely would’ve went mustang, actually 350z would be a top contender too. Brz and Miata just don’t have enough power
96 to 98 cobras don't have IRS. They did not get IRS until 99. Plus your IRS picture in the video was a shot of a solid axel car with 4 link stock suspention.
Not sure where you got the $ 10K price from but most of these are well over $ 10k, unless you get a really old one. The Mustang Cobra, even tho it is a 96, sells for over $ 20k.
Ek hatch integra or prelude is an amazing choice
I had a 91 300zx TT and that was the last Japanese sports car I bought. I still have ptsd from all the issues I had with it.
I love how when they are talking about choosing a car the NSX is pictured 😅
If you get a GT86, I might get one too.
If you do get a Miata hardtop, I would only get one if it's easy to make it wide body. They look way too awkward on the road nowadays with their diminutive size compared to everything else. A triple row SUV has like 3 times the volume a Miata occupies.
No pressure!! HAHA. Your decision will influence mine. My ETA is 2 months and 4 days! :D
I don't know how much power an 86 or a Miata can make reliably with mods before a pricey engine build.. I'm planning to sell my 500hp Audi A6 soon and maybe get something cheaper to run, but hopefully still semi-fun. I do need AWD because Canada.
Then if the daily is cheap enough, I still have money left over for a high mileage 86 or older Miata. Just to keep me sane and car joy in my life.
I will miss the low to mid 3 seconds 0-60 my A6 puts down, but the economy has spoken :| (which I hate... I hate it. I love this car.. Sigh)
So... would you get a miata or 86 if you were me and HAD to choose?
Full Build Mini cooper trooper 🔥
like off road?!?
Only the new edge (99/04)cobras had the rear independent suspension. And the 03-04 are the terminators and will never touch under $20k. 99-02 is what you have to find.
96-98 sn95 was mystic paint and mystchrome came out for the 03-04 terminator cobras, also 99-04 new edge sn95 cobras were the first with IRS suspension.
Yeah we need to learn a little more about those! thx for the feedback!
C4 corvette was beating out porsches and ferraris in handling at the time. Catfish camaro is probably the best bet tho
I got an rx8 :D its under 10k not particularly great in a drag but handles beautifully :D
Maybe it isn t rwd but i would look for mazda mx6, nice looking sport coupe.
I see what ideal is doing here. Mention every other car CZcamsr so the algo puts you guys in the center.
Audi tt mk2 is definitly the best option
06-14 dodge charger rt or srt with the 6.1????
Subaru brz or gr86
Is300 it’s a banger
do subaru legacy?liberty 4th gen instead of86 or miata
06 and up mustang gt or a 07-08 tl type s
NGL I wanna see a Ford Fiesta S, sure it doesn't look sporty, but it comes with a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder and a 5 speed manual.
You should get a 4th gen Firebird trans am /Camaro ss
Toyota Mr2 , VW Corrado vr6 , Porchse Boxster s , Audi S4 " 2.8 twin turbo " .
Ohhh didn't think of an MR2.. would you go turbo?
Ideal? Important a Suzuki Cappuccino a build one.
It’s an underpowered and underrated pocket rocket that is tons of fun.
Haha that would be Ideal!
Should look at a b7 audi a4 2.0t
Mr2 spyder no doubt would be a fun build
If it was MY money I would get a GTO or G8 GT but they're not exactly great for content despite the ignorant amount of power you can get from them, they're pretty sorted out the box. For content and fun, I'd probably go with a mazdaspeed3, C5 Corvette or build a Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX as a FF tribute
ohhh all good ideas! GTO is definitely a slept on car!
350z is best- most iconic, best looking of the list, but also has both a fantastic chassis and engine stock, also a clean 350z under 10k is very common- under 5k not so much, meanwhile an 86 is usually fucked at that price. miata is better as a standalone than a modding platform and pales in that way to the others on this list
Y’all talked about the frs/brz/gt86 and I would slaughter that with a simple mr2 spyder 😂 lightweight, simple, convertible. Get a 2zz engine and you got a real beast and super reliable track car
You ever worked on one? No bueno my friend.
@@cathleenbennett7806 they’re the red headed step child of the family. Everyone hates on them but the 2zz engine can take a serious beating and it’s all so light it makes it super fast without effort. We aren’t talking easy ability to wrench on, we’re talking about cars under 10k. If you want a cheap car gotta take some punches along the way
You can find a decent 86 on market place between 7-15k
Mustang!!!!
I like where you're heads at!
I haven't watched the video yet, but the best bang for your buck under 10 grand is a 98-02 Camaro Z/28. LS1 power and a great platform for modifying. And it's probably faster than anything on the list. Stretch a little more money and get a C5 Corvette, by FAR the best performorming, most reliable, and most modifiable car for the money. A C5 with $10k in upgrades can destroy 99 percent of the cars on the road today. If not in acceleration, then definitely in handling. The C5.R race car was very dominant on track and showed the potential of the platform. It's a true driver's car with an almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution, LS power, lightweight, front engine rear drive, wide tires, low center of gravity, available 6 speed manual transmission, and great suspension and weight transfer. People are starting to wake up to how great they are, and prices are starting to go up, especially for the Z06. It's a car that used the Ferrari 360 as a performance benchmark, which is insane when you think about the price difference between the two. For driving enthusiasts who like to modify and customize their cars, it really doesn't get any better, in my opinion.
After watching the video, buy a cheap 300zx, LS swap with a TR6060 transmission, and then have fun. It solves the old reliability concerns, and not a lot of channels have done a 300zx. It might reignite a passion for these cars. They look super cool(best Z car imo) and have some really great potential as a platform. It would be something different than what most people are doing. Benchmark the stock 300zx and then after the engine swap, suspension, etc. I think it would be rad.
i rather pick a G37x why doesn’t anyone mentions it a nice awd n a option to change it to rwd n s coupe you can hit 46hp w a stage 2 tune n you can find a g37 for under 12k
986 boxster, e85 z4, r171 slk
Proce wize the 350 makes the most sense 10k would pay for car plus ok coils
I find the power roof on the Miata a bit of a disappointment; heavy and really is no better than a targa roof on a Vette......plus the manual soft top is so easy to use......
That's great feedback!
Lexus IS300 could be fun. 1JZ baby!😁
The mustang is the closest to the good old days. But I still can’t wait to see which one shows up next week. Huh
We shall see! Might have just bought something...
Hey new to channel, Hey got question? Im going on 50 years old and have ran into some health problems, i am strugglin veteran with my knees and back in bad shape.... Right now I am just door dashing full time... I want to make my dashin just lil bit more fun... While I am doing it... I am wanting a used SCION frs maybe put an intake on it, upgrade exhaust, maybe lil tune one it as far as motors goez then do some rims/tires, a wing etc.... I love the way those things look?? Help me out would that be a good Doordash ride if I do not put a turbo on it and do crazy stuff ro motor??? ..I dont expect to be Dale Ernhart or Jimmy Johbson..I just want my mobile office to be lil more fun not so boring... A lot of country rds and curvy rdz I drive on as well.. Is FRS a good choice or wat would u go with? Like i said I am not looking for something with 500 horse or something crazy..But a practical fun sporty set up that is durable and reliable? Any ideas? Any one help a Veteran out here with some suggestions ir ideas?
a built FRS would be an INCREDIBLE door dash car!
@@IdealMediaChannel So wat should I do to it to get it a lil peppy but not over board? Not tryin to bug u bud but this will be my 1st foreign car, My dad retired from GM after puttn n 36 years..I Am sick of the last 3-4 American made vehicles I have had!! They all were junk lol.. Sad but true..
@@IdealMediaChannel oh yeah wznted to say Thank You for taking a minute of your time and actually responding to my message.. I rarely get a response from one of the main people of watever channel I ask a question on.. Thank You again..God Bless Y'all!! over there
The foxbody looks better than the sn95. You’ll never change my mind
These are all still typical picks (for a good reason) with A LOT of existing content, it could be cool if y'all picked something less conventional.
2006 rsx type s k24a2 naturally aspirated with around 250 hp
C4 base or infinity g35 , 2010 camaro
Ohh the Camaro slipped by! that would be ideal!
Something with an ls motor camaro,trans-am,corvette,gto,ctsv
GTO would be fun to play with! what would you pick?
@@IdealMediaChannel well I own a camaro SS...id like to see one beat a hellcat...there's a task
A Toyota Camry Sleeper car would be awesome!!!
Pontiac trans Am!!
I would have chosen the Mazda RX-8 you can find plenty of them for under $10,000
I think a c4 corvette would be perfect it’s old it’s ls and it’s reliable
What about the eclipse gsx
What about a 996?
I don't think I could swing one for 10k... if you can find one for that price I'll buy it!
@@IdealMediaChannel you can try to negotiate and try getting them around 10K though… Our community can get them at good prices but are nervous about it… maybe you can help us out but working on it and showing us that it’s reliable and good…
335i e90 or e92 because you can get a manual plus very easily to get hp
N54 FTW!
If you don't care about reliability, the E60/F10 BMW 550i is an AWESOME sounding car!
Scratch the E36 and go with an E46 330 zhp or just 330
8th gen civic SI, unless it has to be rear wheel drive
can you really get an E36 M3 for $10k ish in America? they start at $40k in Australia and thats ridiculous
Buy the stang!
You diggin the cobra?
Where the hell do I find these for 10k that hasn't been on the bottom of a lake?
Just install forged head gaskets on a Subaru wrx and then your good to beat the crap out of it
Either cobra or the m3
which out of those two?
2006 Saab 9-2x Aero
Bmw 335 or audi a6/s6 with s/c 3.0
DSM awd!!!😮
Bro get a 1 series over a an nc I think everyone has seen enough Miata builds
Go for a Mitsubishi, maybe a 3000gt
Love the videos
Thanks for all your continued support!
Buy all of them!
Give me $50k!
How much are you willing to spend in mods though? 10k for the car but afterwards?
Hopefully a good chunk! May have to flip a car to pay for them tho!
@@IdealMediaChannelYikes!!! Well...I am a sucker for AWD, but I hope good luck whatever you choose.
Why was the 90s dodge viper on that handling list 😂
Big tires... lots of traction! haha
Porsche 944 turbo?
Ohhhh I dont know if I need another P car tho... :)
@@IdealMediaChannel can you still get a MK3 Toyota supra for less than $10000 in good condition?
the best tuner car you will probably by is a civic si
