I feel like people are being a bit harsh on the interviewer. First of all the interviewers first language is not english and with that taken into account I think the interviewer did good! (come on you guys - learning other languages is not an easy task) Second this was a really interesting interview. The questions were about the music and not about Mendes' celebrity crush or whatever and that was refreshing! In general I think FaceCulture are very good at doing interviews. Yes sometimes the questions are asked in a bit of a stiff manner, but the questions (which is what I would say matter) are always very thorough, and you can hear that the interviewer has researched who they are talking with and that for me gives more in depth and interesting interviews.
After this interview I have grown to love Shawn even more! Because even with a very bad interviewer he showed how nice and sweet he is. Love you Shawn!
I really respect how this interview focused a lot on his music, musical influences, and his album & songs. It's a bit tedious that a lot of interviews of male singers revolve around who they date or what they look for in a partner etc... Very impressed with the questions, they were deeper than most other interviews and it was very interesting to listen to!

I think, this interviewer is just a grown man wanting to talk music. This interview has content and refreshingly isn't about all of the mayhem and publicity around him, just his music and his growth. It's different from how he is interviewed normally, targeted towards young teenage girls. Not better or worse, just different. Gotta admit I like all the bubbly funny interviews as well, but this really got me to listen to some thoughts behind the music.
Watching these interviews, when Shawn talks about songwriting, his inspiration, writing the lyrics on his own, gives me hope for my own career. I'm so proud of Shawn and how far he's come! He's gonna be selling out stadiums!!!!

I love how the questions were ALL about music and Shawn's true passion and the real reason for his career. This interviewer didn't dwell on "Who's your next girlfriend?" or "What's your favorite tv show?" Like it's nice to know those things and hear about Shawn personally but I think the questions and answers about the music are the ones I like hearing about the most. His mind is so beautiful when it comes to his music and I am so glad this interview is so long and full of how Shawn thinks. Great job and great questions

i find it interesting how different these questions were from the ones you asked when you interviewed twenty one pilots. i get that shawn and tøp cannot be compared but just because they have different music styles and demographics i wouldve like more in depth questions that shawn wouldve caught onto

This was a very good interview but I think that the interviewer wasn't getting half of the stuff he said and I felt like Shawn was a bit uncomfortable compared to other interviews I'm not hating or anything on the interviewer just wanted to say and I love Shawn so much

i feel like the one interviewing him didnt know much english beside his questions, to that extent that he couldnt really go on to a random topic based on one of shawns answers. maybe that led to not being too interested, since he asked if shawn writes his own music when he had just said that he does lol. so maybe next time they need someone with more skills in the language, bc it did come across as a bit unwelcoming
yeah definitely cos the guys English was not very good and it would have been better if they had someone that could speak the language correctly but even still they could have written out better questions cos me personally they didn't ask anything that I didn't know. Other than asking stuff that he has answered so many times in other entreviews.
