Overnight sensation Jim Carrey reprises his role as the eccentric detective in this follow-up to the runaway blockbuster Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Legendary pet detective Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey) returns for another adventure when he's coerced out of retirement while on a soul-searching retreat in the Himalayas. He must now retrieve an endangered sacred white bat from a village located in Africa. The sacred animal was offered up as a wedding dowry from the Wachootoo prince (Tommy Davidson) to the Wachati princess (Sophie Okonedo), and, if Ace can't track down the culprit behind the kidnapping in time, civil war will break out between the two rival tribes.

The absurdity of you in a parachute being towed by a vehicle being driven by someone you are spying on is so Ace Ventura. Love this movie. A comedy masterpiece.

Jim Carrey spent a lot of time off sick, which affected the contract of actor Simon Callow. Callow's contract had actually expired before he could finish filming his scenes. Despite this, he wasn't paid overtime as Carrey's illness was regarded as an "Act of God" in the contract. Which Carrey himself claims as "unfair". Since Callow already had other commitments in London, the producers suggest he flew back regularly in first-class, as the contract had stated. It wasn't until later that Callow found out that the producers were deducting the cost of his plane tickets from his overall salary. In his words he "finished up working almost for nothing".

Ace eating the 🦓 with the lions was the best disguise ever
This scenes great for so many reasons. Obviously the rhino looks fake, but nevertheless he drives it anyway, in the middle of nowhere, which at the speed he is picking up the legs at must have been extremely time consuming.
Next he didnt even break a sweat till a tiny fan wore out.
Most importantly....who builds these things and where can i get one.
This would be fun to watch on set while filming. And be able to question how they came up with this in the script. Thanks for uploading.
