      Insane or not, her behavior isn’t normal. She may be compelled by her inner rage that would drive her to do these things. Anger issues. Paranoia. Whatever. But she should have gotten help from people who do know she’s got anger issues and uncontrollable rage. What about Schizophrenia? Normally anger management would be the first thing Yoslyn needed. If a mental illness has been ruled out. She may have known what she did was terrible if she didn’t do it intentionally.

How a person comes to decide on an action like that woman took is beyond me! There's something missing inside of some people and I don't know what you call it but whatever is inside of me they must truly lack. And I can't imagine lacking it. Mother Krim was TRICKED into hiring this woman. The woman's sister, Celia, practically stalked Marina Krim, who was new in town. Celia met her attending her daughter's dance class, where a child Celia was a nanny for, was attending.
      Marina Krim and her husband had just moved from California, where most of their family was. They had no grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc. of their children to help babysit or watch them once in a while.
      Celia went up to her and offered Yoselyn to help her and be their nanny.
      Marina Krim, who'd never used a nanny before, and had just had her third kid, foolishly took the bait.
      Celia praised her sister, even though her sister had never been a nanny before nor worked in childcare and was actually a cleaning lady at the time.
      Obviously Celia thought her sister could made more and have easier work as a nanny than as a cleaning lady, so that's why she was pushing Marina Krim.
      The Krims made the mistake of trusting a relative of Yoselyn, instead of doing their own research and scrutiny. The trust the pushy Celia too much.

    • @jobrock1079
      @jobrock1079 Před 6 lety +1

      But Marina WAS a stay-home mom. She hired the nanny for extra help as she ran errands and shuffled one child or the other to private school or lessons. She did volunteer teach artwork, but that was only part time or irregularly.
      I guess she could have cut some of the activities of her kids and had them home watching TV more - then she wouldn't have needed the nanny.
      Also, the nanny was paid $18 an hour, and that doesn't sound cheap to me.

    • @jobrock1079
      @jobrock1079 Před 6 lety +2

      She had no dependents. Her parents were raising her son in The Dominican Republic, only a few months before the slaying did she bring him to the U.S.
      She was 50 years old and was only responsible for herself until those last few months. She was in this situation at age 48 when the Krim's hired her.
      She was not able to make a decent living before them, plus she was living at her sister's department.
      She was always free to leave and search for another job. She could have refused the job in the first place, if the salary was too low. But obviously it was BETTER than what she had before or she wouldn't have accepted/wanted it and stayed for 2 years.
      What was the salary for a cleaning lady in New York in 2010?

Check references, know who you are hiring, pick up on signals and don’t treat people who work for you with contempt. Know who’s in your home. There’s lots of blame going back and forth. The victims are those innocent, defenseless little angels. RIP💔

    Only a nanny who beats description could fit the profile of someone with schizophrenia. Because who else would do something so pathetic as she has done to the family? From now on, changes must be made that anyone who considers a future potential for employment, like a nanny, or a school teacher, a complete physical and mental evaluation must be made regarding one’s previous mental or medical history before that person is cleared for employment. We don’t want to see another killer nannies take the lives of children that way. We now already know that Yoselyn Ortega has hurt so many people who previously tried to help her.

This women should be put to death! why do we keep these people alive who lack remorse Why do we waste are tax money on keeping them alive for the rest of there lives The defence talks about the defendent having rights "right before sentencing" Why do we give these evil godless souls rights? what is wrong with are system and why are we so afraid to put these types of people to death Maybe if we showed the public a execution and what happens if you dare to hurt are most innocents If people saw with there own eyes Maybe they would think before acting so horrificly But life in prison is that really justice to someone who is uncapable of feeling remorse but only for her self

    I’m always surprised that comments for the opening statements are, mostly, a desire to torture the accused and a rush of “guilty”. Regardless of the plea, the defendant is considered to be not guilty until proven to be guilty. I have two sons of my own, and I know there is an instinct to torture her. Period! But, at this point of the trial, she is not guilty.

    • @lazydaisy4561
      @lazydaisy4561 Před 2 lety

      What??? Have you never seen opening statements in a court of law? This is not like when you watch a new report where you have to protect yourself from libel so you label everything "illedged" In a court room the prosecution is required to lay out proof, to the best of their ability, showing the defendant is guilty. They don't do that by pretending they aren't guilty until proven otherwise because they are the ones responsible to prove the guilt to the jury. What you said makes no sense. They're supposed to say they're guilty.
