- Yoshinobu Yamamoto, The Best Pitcher From Japan
In this video, I talk about the next rising star in Japan. He's a very good pitcher with huge upside for anytime that drafts him.
#mlb #baseball #sports
Looking back… Samurai Japan’s pitching rotation in the WBC was downright legendary lol. Yamamoto, Sasaki, Ohtani lmao
its a wonder they almost lost to mexico
@@caughtlookingthey were suffering from massive jet lag. But q came around after 7th inning on time to win the game
@@caughtlookinggotta give credit to that mexico team. They had a great lineup and a good rotation. They beat usa too
Also darvish as a number 4 lol. Plus the bullpen with npb aces and closers and setup guys
Welcome to the Dodgers!
Boo dodgers
Soo excited. Welcome to the Dodgers blue heaven Yamamoto. Arigato
Booooo dodgers
He will absolutely succeed. His performance in Japan was better than Senga, Ohtani, Darvish and Tanaka.
We will see
SF Giants for Yamamoto. They are on the West Coast and just signed Bob Melvin as Manager. Ask Ichiro about Bob Melvin.
Plus they got embarrassed last offseason I could see them going all in on the young arm
Oakland A's
Dodgers!! 🙌🙌😂😂
@@nukmedtek909so much for Bob Melvin huh? 😂😂
3:14 and 3:17 was Roki Sasaki.
Can't wait until you are on the Cardinals. I see that Nootbaar and Arenado are already putting in the work recruiting this beast.
yessir 2024 our year
@TonsterTube these other fans think that Yamamoto is joining their team LOL
@@Subatom1cSn1per 💀 They must not know who MO is
@@TonsterTube Honestly, having MO as a GM makes me a little less hopeful tbh 😂
@@Subatom1cSn1per 💀🙏 it’s over for us
I hope he is wearing the blue and orange of my NY METS to start the season. LGM!!!
STL gonna pick him up
Our Owner doesn’t spend money like the Mets owner I’d bet the Mets over cardinals and I’m a birds on the bat fan
@@boschlosser10 My friend,METS nation knows how you feel. Until recently, barely 4 years ago,our fan base had no hope. Watching the Yankees have all the fun and wanting some one to buy our beloved franchise. Then came Steve Cohen thank GOD ALL MIGHTY!!!!! LGM!!!!!
I hope we don’t but senga Yamamoto would be a pretty dominant 1-2
@@caughtlooking Fair enough 😂. No umbrage I taken. LGM!!!!
I appreciate the work you put into this video, but your timeline is off. You state that Yamamoto's age is 24, he had a 15-5 record, and a 1.39 ERA. He turned 25 during the 2023 season, went 15-5 in 2022, and had a 1.39 ERA in 2021. And for his 2023 numbers, I'm not even sure where you got them from. There is no room for errors when you are quoting statistics.
I’ll work on producing more quality, reliable videos sorry for any confusion
What is special about Yoshi is the life (no drop) on his FB. Most pitcher's FB drop as they reach the plate due to gravity, but his just tells gravity to pound sand. It arrives straight on the vertical plabe of his release point kinda like Verlander and Yoshi does it with pinpoint accuracy. It makes all his other pitches look even more lethal and difficult to square off. He is like what you get if you mixed some goods parts of Pedro and Maddux. It is crazy to think that he Sasaki and Ohtani were all in the same rotation when they won the WBC. It was probably one of the best starting rotations that tourney has ever seen of not the best by far. Even Sasaki was dealing at 103 mph.
Wouldn’t a straight fastball be easier to hit than a fastball that’s got some movement. Part of the reason why a lot of hard throwers today are so successful is because of the action the have on their fastball. In fact most pitchers elect to throw a two seam rather than a 4 seam so they get more movement on the ball.
@caughtlooking it is definitely easier to hit a straight FB & if that was his only pitch he would be all done even at 100 MPH but with his 3 or 4 other off-speed pitches that all drop off the table he can sneak that through and hitters won't have a chance. That is why he is catching so many of them looking at strike 3. The life on his FB never ends. It is almost rising. 90% of hitters can't get around on that unless they guess FB, gear up and commit.
@caughtlooking he throws a 4 seamer ,a splitter, a curve and a cutter. I can't wait to see him here. He will have to get used to the slightly bigger ball but he is gonna give the NL West some problems. Especially the following season when he and Ohtani are 1 & 2 in the rotation in LA.
He wants to be in the largest franchise in baseball... We know who that is..
Dodgers or the Yankees for sure
Or possibly the Mets
Cardinals…
Future SF Giant ace
Well see
日本のエース‼️
次のステージでも頑張れー😊😊
😀😀
Hopefully next year, he will be in a New York Mets uniform.
I think that’s very possible with senga already being there
Nah
Future Dodgers player
How you going to sign him and Ohtani???
@@boschlosser10yes dodger fans deserve it after all this playoff choking we see every year.
Didn’t yall just win that BS Covid championship… cardinals haven’t won a WS since 2011 so… kinda flaw there as cardinals have same issues
@@boschlosser10 dodgers haven't won a real ring since 1988
@@boschlosser10 from what I hear they say 12 year for 500 to 700 million dollars
It seems that the Yankees are serious about getting Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but the commentators and one section of Yankees fans are very discriminating against Japanese. They are even stingy with Shohei Ohtani's historic performance.
That's why Yoshinobu Yamamoto should not go to the Yankees. They say he doesn't fit in MLB because he can't speak English.
The yankees loved Tanaka what are you talking about?
You forgot that Ichiro was a Yankees as well. So get your facts straight before you, saying a statement like that.
They loved Hideki Matsui as well. As a Mets fan I have no love for the Yankees, but attacking their fans and commentators like that is either ignorant or disingenuous. New Yorkers demand a lot from their players and they will let you know when they don't approve of your performance, but they are pretty fair. I'd really like to know where you're getting your information from.
He’ll be in the MLB half the players in the league don’t speak English that’s a dumb reason for him not to be in the league
He signed with Dodgers. A team that welcomes all players.
The Yankees need to do all they can to get The Admiral Yamamoto.
I hope a smaller market team gets him
hopefully he's in a Phillies uniform this next season !
I can’t see y’all signing Yamamoto and bringing Nola back it’s one or the other imo
Nahhh. Who do you think you are the METS???😂😂😂. You didn’t get the memo??? Fred wilpon is not the owner of the METS anymore. How do you think you even got Zhack wheeler in the first place??? Fred wilpon , who some Mets fans not so affectionately called Scumpond, didn’t even make wheeler an offer. That’s why you have wheeler now. Do you think you’d have him if Uncle Steve had been the owner when wheeler was a free agent??? METS NATION finally has the owner worthy of our great fan base. It’s Uncle Steve time baby. You better recognize. LGM!!!!!
I really really really hope not
*coming from a braves fan*
@@boschlosser10 I agree with this
Get ready Yankee fans hes getting ready to come to the Legendary Yankees
Doubt he will go to a team that already has an ace.
Ultra glazing
To me, Yamamoto is a Japanese version of Greg Maddox, except that Yamamoto's fastball is a bit faster than that of Maddox. Both pitchers elevated the pitching to an art form. My hunch is that Yamamoto will sign with the Red Sox. His former teammate (Yoshida) is there.
Red Sox are a big market team in the market for some starting pitching so I could see them signing him
He won't be going there, He's coming to the Bronx , number 18 is waiting for him..
@@caughtlooking Dodgers got him.
I’m just waiting for the Rangers to sign him and Ohtani then go back to back , things will be great in Texas 😂
Ask the Astros how difficult that is
Time for someone to open the check book. I hope its St.louis
Someone is gonna have to id be surprised if it’s the cards but maybe
Braves need him
They need some starting pitching that’s for sure especially if they don’t resign fried
Watch the Astros get him 🥹🤦🏻♂️
I’d be surprised they have a ton of pitching
@@caughtlooking not really Jv is old and Framber & Javier were really inconsistent
McCullers is over
He just announced Yamamoto that is that he wants to be in a big market so see ya cardinals unfortunate for my team
where did you get this information?
ANGELS LETS GOO
Possibly sign him and keep Ohtani around
Angels? Not a chance. They had Trout and Ohtani together for several years and zero post season appearances. Yamamoto wants to win. The Angels need to get rid of Rendon’s contract before they can rebuild.
The glazing in this video
How so?
I like Roki, and Shunpeita better.
I think Roki will be better then Yamamoto imo kids a stud
Sorry, he wanted to play with Ohtani in LA
I know what a bummer
Greg Maddox 2.0
We’re gonna see
STEVE COHEN PLEASE!!!!
nah yall are going through a rebuild this year
@@caughtlooking That statement is incorrect
@@dannythomas9623 well that’s what I heard but we’ll see they got an ace last year let’s see if they try to get another one this year
Yamamoto sign with the Texas Rangers
That’d be a surprise
Yankee fans boo their own players. Their expectations are high up there. And, they will call you out if you are doing lousy. They dont discriminate on where the player is from. They are frustrared right now and they dont think of the managing office too highly, especially as long as cashman as GM and Boone as the head coach.
They loved Tanaka. They loved Matsui. They do discriminate against players who do lousy though. Rodon was a highly regarded signing. He did lousy and found himself indiscriminately heckled many times.
Yankees will pursue Ohtani first
@boschlosser10 I believe they will indeed try to get Ohtani, but Ohtani wants to stay in the west coast. Shorter flight time to visit Japan. And, he likes the climate. Yamamoto is more likely to go to the Yankees than Ohtani.
I could see the Yankees signing him and Ohtani together honestly
Yankees bound!
We’ll see
Please don’t go to Yanks…
please do go to yanks
He will be a Yankee.
@@tonymalagon9644 nope. Look who went to visit him in Japan..... Nootbaar and Arenado. #futurecardinal
He does share same agent as Arenado but we must remember Bill Dewitt cardinals owner doesn’t spend money… Mets Yankees Dodgers Phillies Padres… all do
I think a dark horse candidate for signing him would be the padres
Until the next posted pitcher who tops out at 101
Who will that be?
