It's all well and good to take a photo with an iPhone and print the image on a large paper format, but I would like to see a video in which you would compare the printed photo from the camera and from the iPhone to see the difference in colours, shadows, halftones in the resulting prints on paper.

Yeah I remember the same conversations going on from owners of DSLR when Mirrorless arrived on the scene. As I said in the video...every day the mobile technoogy is getting better and better. It's all well and good finding fault now but you'll struggle to keep doing so 😉

I love the fact that you can print a decent sized image from the iPhone. I’ve had the iPhone 13 Pro over a year and still am discovering all I can do with it. And like you, I’m amazed at the less luggage I have to carry on a shoot. Thanks for sharing and all the best!

Incredible. I'm just back from o/s where I travelled with a camera backpack - camera, lenses, filters, batteries etc. and that was pretty heavy. Along with the weight of the camera backpack and its contents you are always thinking about the security of all the kit.
The results you can now achieve with an iPhone (or equivalent) and some add ons is pretty amazing. The advancement of camera phones + great editing software is definitely the way of the future. Brilliant video Glyn.

I shoot and print from my Olympus EM1 MkII; my Samsung S22 Ultra; my 35mm, 6x6, 4x5 and half plate film cameras. They each have a place (I use my Olympus with the 40-150mm F/2.8 for motorbike racing photography for example) and as you say, the phone's are only going to keep getting better and better. As is the software like Gigapixel.
Printing is such a joy such that I picked up a Pro100S just so I can do it at home when I want to.

excellent point about mirrorless vs iPhone, at that point it's virtually the same thing except for the shape of the plastic case that houses the sensors and electronics boards. also easy to imagine someone clicking an iPhone into a 3d printed "camera" body just to make it look like a "real camera" for fun. but agree the tinyrig jigs accomplish the same thing without the silliness of 'what does a real camera body' look like. personally i'm still using a DSLR because i like the analogue aesthetic of mirrors and prisms, and recently got a K1000 for the full mechanical and film experience. but art is art, and i would never claim that the new iphone isn't a real camera (even though it may not bring me the same joy and help evoke a focused creative state like a traditional camera body can).

If we pixel peep we have failed . The impact of the image should speak for itself . I’ve found Topaz AI is a real game changer , not only for IPhone images but also smaller sensor drones (Mavic mini pro 3 ) , thanks for hardware info , I’ll be dipping into wallet shortly . I believe the iPhone can sense whether your using tripod and changes ISO ? There’s something to be said regarding two eyes 👀 for composition vrs 1 eye . Il believe there is a distinct advantage to this , which gives the large screen of the iPhone the edge (IMHO) . Great video 👏🏻

Yes, it's doable. It is even doable with much cheaper phones. It's fine for static cases and a limited focal range. But you still need additional tools, such as lenses, camera housing, tripod and software to get good results. For the same price, today, you will get a better more versatile camera. The print size in this case is only depending on Topaz, not the camera used. You can get this result with any 12MP sensor.

Ok to answer your question ...
      1) In Lightroom on the iPad before you ''Edit in Photoshop' look further down the menu and choose 'Export As'
      2) There change the settings to TIFF , Largest Available Dimensions , 16 bits
      3) Also at the bottom choose 'More options' where you can set the Colour Space.
      4) When you're done tap the ✔️ and then go to 'Edit in Photoshop' 👍🏻

I've used Gigapixel AI a lot, usually just to try and make a family shot shared on social media somewhat useful after big tech basically shrinks it to total uselessness. Is there any reason this approach would not work equally with color? I happen to have a 60 megapixel full frame, but I hate lugging it around.

Not sure why your original RAW image was not larger. Using the 1x (24mm equivalent) lens mine on the 14 Pro Max are 8064 x 6048 and image quality is superb. I really don’t see the point anymore of carrying around a wide angle lens. Where ‘real’ cameras still rule supreme are in longer focal lengths for wildlife and sports - no phone can come anywhere close.
