    Can I just say how validating it was for Shayne to talk about how self-isolation happens for him? That was so real to my own experience, and it made me feel really seen. I get so caught up in my own head with, "Oh, someone texted me 4 hours ago and I didn't respond. It'd be weird to respond now. They're probably annoyed. What if they're mad at me? I shouldn't reach out."
    It just keeps building on itself, and honestly the only way to free yourself of it is to break through and be around your friends. That's so hard to do, but man, I really needed to hear it today. Thank you, Shayne.

    • @dailydiscomfort1045
      @dailydiscomfort1045 Před 7 měsíci +2

      I'm the same, the birthday/reaching out (especially if I have to organize something for a larger group of people, so I feel the additional pressure) is so hard for me. It's a bit of an ADHD thing, but also deep personal insecurities that are hard to overcome.

    • @Masquerade08
      @Masquerade08 Před 7 měsíci +4

      "hey, sorry, didn't have the spoons to respond till now. Blah blah blah blah." Fill in the blahs with the response to the message.
      If you got that message from your friend, would you be mad, or would you understand and just be grateful they got back to you? If you've got good, reasonable friends, they'll forgive the lack of quick response as you would forgive them.

    Shayne is my spirit animal. 🐢 😂
    Lol jokes aside, it is nice to hear that there is people as popular as people from Smosh dealing with anxiety/social anxiety/over thinking, it makes me feel like it's something that can be overcome, and you can find a place you belong. I have really bad anxiety/social anxiety/social media anxiety and I over-think a lot, and it hinders me a lot.
    It is nice to see others dealing with anxiety/over thinking but yet still push to overcome it.
    Often overthinking and anxiety makes you feel alone. I also deal with ADHD and sometimes you just feel paralyzed.
    It's fascinating to see Shayne talk about overcoming stuff, and you can see the progress he's made and it gives hope.
    I have been watching Smosh for years and a lot of the cast has come a Long way.

    watching this podcast has become my new go-to for study breaks 💕 my only resolution for this year was to take better care of myself in terms of fitness so i can weirdly relate to shayne's arc of setting a goal to do the splits, doing all the stretching, and then losing motivation when he realized how his body type isn't the textbook fit for that goal. for me, i don't need to do hours of workouts every day, but i'd like to get to a point where i can do them consistently. i'm disabled and exercise has always been hard for me, but i can already tell that i've made some progress so i wanna keep that going.

    Shayne discussing his hopes to create motivation through the podcast from 31:05 to 31:20 is everything. We need more people who motivate and inspire people to do and experience things for the enjoyment of it. Society can make us so focused on achieving and doing for the prestige of all of it, which is so restrictive. It reduces experiences to their monetary value and product value. There is so much more to life than that. I'd love to see Amanda and Shayne use this podcast to explore and try new creative outlets or hobbies they've been intrigued by but never went forward with. They could pick an activity, do it together (or separately), and then use the podcast to discuss the experience, the pros and cons, if they'd do it again, etc. It would be a great way to expose and motivate Smosh Mouth viewers to things they've maybe never considered before.

    Man, I love the reddit series that shayne hosts and had found myself looking for more videos with amanda and shayne after seeing just how real they are with eachother and their guests. THEN.. SMOSH MOUTH HAPPENED?! couldn't be happier. These two are such a good example that you don't need romantic chemistry in order to share the best conversations and experiences with someone. They just have chemistry. And I love absorbing that through this channel and my god the rest of smosh being the guests was a stroke of genius hahahaha. That being said these videos are only an hour long but still leave me feeling impacted for the rest of the day. You really don't know what a gold mine you have hit starting this channel.

    Ever since the episode w/ Amanda's old news casting footage, I've wanted to see some the Smosh Improv Team do a full on set of Improvised News related 'games' stuff like 'Weird Newscasters' and the greenscreen 'Reporter in the Field w/ Colin Mochrey' from Whose Line Is It Anyway type games/set-ups, or College Humor/DropOut TV's 'Try Not To Laugh News' stuff where they're fed prompts and lines and characters and have to lean into them without laughing or breaking character, etc.
    I'll be out walking for exercise and find myself zoning out and making myself laugh out loud, while thinking of stuff like Shayne portraying a news anchor w/ gravitas (AKA Tom Brokaw in his prime, etc) but interviewing Noah who is playing The Easter Bunnies PR Rep who is trying to deal with the fallout over the breaking news - "Cadbury Bunny has been murdered and the Easter Bunny is allegedly the prime suspect!" and other silly stuff like that.

    I know this podcast wasn’t intended to be a motivational podcast, but it really has motivated me and I’m sure others. I have always been the kind of person that does so many different things. And they are all things I enjoy, but I then struggle to find the motivation to commit to finishing anything I start. I have been doing music since I was 9 (almost 21 now), and I have had concepts for my own songs and started writing, but I’d get in my head about how bad I thought what I was doing was. Watching these guys and even their episode with writers block and writing, it reminded me I do all these things for myself, not for anyone else. I’ve now almost completed recording a song, this is the furthest I’ve ever gotten without getting in my head and giving up cause I thought it wasn’t good enough. It’s insane to me how listening to these guys helps so much, not just with finding the motivation for music, but all the things I enjoy, weather it’s writing, journaling, etc.
