Honestly, Node and Mesmer feel like they're lingering in the shadow of Singularity, and it's only when they released Alien that they felt like they were trying something new, and weren't trying to capture lightning in a bottle again.

It can be hard to find your identity and sounds again when you lose a key member. It sounds like they finally found their new sound with their last 2 releases.

    Great ranking bro!
    Mine will be:
#5 or 6 Node and Mesmer
    #4 Obsidian (the length man!)
    #3 Singularity
    #2 Alien
    #1 Discoveries
Their weakest album is like a 6.2 for me and their best around 8.7

I think the first albums architects sound comes from them being massive fans of that band

Oh wow. Another person stuck on Adrian era Northlane.... I'm just messing with ya. Everyone's entitled to their opinions and tastes. I appreciate that you actually stated your reviews in that manner instead of just being like, "NeW NoRtHlAnE WiTh MaRcUs SuCkS." I personally think they've gotten better once Marcus joined and my favorite album is your least favorite 😅 I do agree about Alien mostly being front loaded as much as I love that album. Eclipse kinda kills the vibe, but I think it picks back up with Paradigm. I love all of their albums, but if I had to rank them, it would probably be like this.
    1. Node
    2. Alien
    3. Obsidian (honestly might switch this one with Alien after more listens)
    4. Singularity
    5. Mesmer
    6. Discoveries

Nice username homie, and thanks for the feedback and for watching. I would've thought Alien or Obsidian would top the list because I love this new sound they've embraced. I just felt their first 2 albums were more consistent, and I usually have a bias towards the heavy. Adrian is the superior harsh vocalist, the cleans are neck and neck I guess.

@@jaydennis1999Thanks! Had to show love for two of my favorite bands without it simply saying DeftonesNorthlane305 lol. I definitely get why some people love the Adrian Northlane albums more and I love them, as well. They really don't have a bad album. Pretty solid discography for a band that's basically only been together for a little over a decade. I really respect the fact you weren't just tearing their new stuff down like I see so many people do. As far as vocals go, I like Marcus's main scream and clean vocals more for sure, but Adrian definitely had WAY better lows/gutturals. That shit sounded mean as fuck! It's kinda hard to really give him a fair comparison on his cleans because he used them so sparingly. They did sound great, though. It sucks he had to leave because he was messing his voice up and not even enjoying the band anymore. I honestly think Northlane still would've moved in the direction they are now if Adrian was still with them and he would have been on board. If anything, he probably would've just made it a little heavier and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think their next album will probably be their perfection of the sound they have now and I'm excited to hear it. Could you imagine hearing Talking Heads with Adrian on vocals? That shit would have been crushing even moreso than it already is 🤯

@@DJENTISNTNOTAGENRE I said the same thing, maybe not in the video, where their next album might be their pinnacle. Obsidian felt like they were still working out some kinks, but if the next album combines elements of Alien and Obsidian, I'll lose my damn mind. The main guitarist, I believe is responsible for all the experimenting and electronic programming. The dude's brilliant and even if Adrian had stuck around, they could've very well done something similar as Marcus. I also really enjoy Marcus as a vocalist, he stepped in quite well to say the least and is owning the band!

@@jaydennis1999 You are correct that Jon Deiley is the one who started adding all the Industrial/EDM stuff into their music. Initially, I wasn't sure how I felt about the shift in style because I, too, was more into their heavier sound from the previous albums. It all grew on me so much after repeated listens of Alien and now Obsidian that I ended up liking their current sound more and I realized that some of the songs are honestly just as heavy, but in a different way. That super low D#1 tuning they use all the time now is brutal as hell!
