    I received the made in France version..produced in february 2020. It misses a few notes but it is Red cap! Regarding the longevity...I sprayed it this morning at 9 and now it is 6:30pm...so it is great. Just to compare...my Allure sensuelle produced in october 2020 last on my skin for 2 hours tops..with moderate to no sillage. New Red cap...I still smell it! So yay...I am happy! Great review...as always!

    I know for sure it was reformulated in 2005, that's when Dolce sold the license for fragrances to P&G, they had to buy the rights to use the formula from Euroitalia and cost them a fortune, and gave it to P&G. I worked for them, and am pretty sure about this. Also the perfume de toilette was available in the original formula as well, I had it, and it was divine....

      Alessia A This video is really enlightening to red cap junkies like me and your comment only adds new nuances. To me, the Made in Italy version is my favourite female perfume by far, and whenever I smell the Made in Germany version, I can perceive lots of differences. It is still red cap but harsher, less natural, less balanced and if you smell close, even a bit unpolished. From far away, it is more similar to the Made in Italy one, that's true. Made In Germany for me pales in comparison, but my sense of smell sometimes is excessively deep. I wish I could smell a sample of the 2018 rework, though I tend to believe it will disappoint me.

    Ok so you instigated me to get a sample of this... And it was such a cool experience, as I realised I have smelled this before. I am pretty sure that someone in my life wore this when I was a child (maybe my nanny or a teacher) and this transported me to the 90s. Happy times! Needles to say, a full bottle of the vintage bottle is already on its way to me. The dry-down of this fragrance is something else, such a special creature. I didn’t realise I owned the Italian version out of my three bottles, I didn’t know there were different formulas necessarily. I had been wearing my 100ml bottle which is one of the middle ones and that’s nice. I saw my 50ml that I haven’t used had a frosty cap and saw Italy on the bottom yay. I tried it and gee it is pretty different in a good way. I find the other ones nice I mean I wear it but it’s a bit sharp. The original is upon comparison smoother and creamier and I personally prefer it.

    I love your reviews, most of them are spot on but also entertaining. This is a favourite of mine too, I was so obsessed with this smell I kept sniffing back in the 90s that one day I just asked some random woman in the street who had that smell what she was wearing. The funny thing is that she had bad breath :) but I did not tell her, of course, I just praised her perfume, politely. So I guess D&G Red Cap is really useful sometimes, as it can hide other odours. The Made in Italy original version is heavenly. More delicate and better balanced, but all are really outstanding. Thanks for your reviews!

    Hi Ouch. Hey I just found you tonight because I bought a Red Cap today from a guy on OfferUp. I’d had it saved for awhile and noticed he’d dropped his asking price from 85 down to 40. I threw a low ball offer of 25 and he took it. I wore it back in the late 90 ‘s and loved it! But just kind of forgot about it. It wasn’t until after I just bought it that I started googling, not thinking that I’d been sold a knock off. I was just curious. Then I learned the history and how it was never the same and the black box and Italy and Germany and attention to the detail and so on. But then I noticed that mine, which I was to believe was just a Germany one (and was disappointed as well that it wasn’t what I remembered it to be!) Anyhow got to lookin on Ebay and could tell just from what little I’ve crammed in the last few hours that there is a LOT of questionables listed. My concern and question to you is that my box, nor my bottle has alcohol volume percentage listed. Anywhere. Would you say with all your knowledge that that would be an indicator?? Thanks!

    I've an original 50ml with frosted red cap, 79% vol., made in Italy, but it has the thinner, sleeker atomiser tube like in the later ones. It came in a square red gift box with black d&g logo and also contained a 50ml tube of creme satinee parfumee/body cream and 50ml of bain sensuel parfume/shower gel. So I purchased a decant of this scent and LAWDY!!! It explains why I couldn’t walk through the fragrance departments of stores in the 1990s. I couldn’t breathe!!! I would literally hold my breath and power walk through the front of the stores. 30 minutes after spraying this on my skin - I’m having to clear my throat. I appreciate that you love this but it smells like a ton of soap and laundry detergent to me. It’s suffocating.
    I can now walk through frag departments no problem, thought it was a change in me. Nope. It was scents like this dying off.

I came across a sealed, vintage box with the black border "made in Italy" 50 ml of this deodorant parfume. I assume this would be the weakest one? Also, some vintages have juice that is really dark, whereas yours shown here still looks pretty fresh. I don't know what to do. I'm afraid to purchase the dark vintage and worried deodorant parfume will be weak. Perhaps I'll just try the new formulation, but I want the best one! Whaa!

    • @ouch110
      @ouch110  Před 6 lety

      HellO!!! I would say that most definitely the deodorant one will be the weakest, kinda like a body mist almost, just meant for casual spritzing or to spray on other parts of your body other than pulse points. In terms of the liquid colour, it just happens with ageing sometimes. I've seen bottles of Angel that are dark brown where the newer ones are blue. It shouldn't make a difference to the smell too much though. :)

      Hello! Did you see a more dark purple shade, or kind of very dark reddish? If so, that is the newer launch of the fragrance where they COMPLETELY changed it and kept the same name. It is the one filled with Marshmallow, not the same at all. You need to find the bright red ones in order to have the original fragrance with the aldehydes and basil etc etc. It is slowly coming back into shops now I think, i have seen it online in lots of places.

      Yes it is Thomas. :) hehe. Ya know, I have no idea. Parfum De Toilette is already quite an unusual concentration in the first place, added to the fact that this perfume got discontinued and brought back, it's probably just been phased out.

      I will eventually be reviewing the newer "intense" one as it's way gorgeous, the other one I'm not so sure. Over the years it has started to turn my stomach a bit. :( Not sure what's happened there.

    • @lawsdraws
      @lawsdraws Před 7 lety

      Ahh cool :) I'm the opposite, didn't get on very well with Intense, as I adore the original EDT; however it has definitely been reformulated over the years, and that never seems to be a good thing :/ I might have to try the EDP again, which is completely different (and yes, thats been messed with too, damn it!).

      I have a bottle of EDP...3.4 oz...the bottle is frosted and the name Dolce& Gabbana is not spelled out but just a capital D&G underlined in gold with POUR FEMME under that line in gold and all this is outlined by a gold box or square. Down lower on the bottle closer to the bottom it is written in gold Eau De Parfum then under that Vaporisateur then under that Natural Spray and lastly spaced down a lil more very near the bottom is written the "e" (for the estimated symbol) then 100ml. a little space then 3.4fl.oz...... all in gold too.... Unfortunately there is no label on the bottom and since I purchased off Merc there was no box with it either....the lady I got it from said it belonged to her Aunt who's perfumes she received after she died....but she said she remembered her smelling like this. I have found no other bottle like it anywhere but as skeptical as I am there is no denying that the fragrance smells like red cap but the only reference I have to compare to is an original formulation EDT and it smells way more dense. The EDP is brighter and doesn't seem to be as heavy but more powdery. I will say the EDP goes on forever. Just wish I could come across another bottle to compare it too.

      I've just bought a bottle of this parfume and it's made in France. From the batch code It seems that the production Is March 2019.
