I was in Redding around November of 2022. Stopped in a Starbucks on a Sunday morning. Someone invited me to Bethel, I grabbed my coffee and walked away. Ain't no way I'm going to a church full of blasphemy.
My husband just asked if I was watching a stand-up comedy routine!

I thought the same thing.. I thought they invited comedians as a break from the preaching. I used to go to Without Walls Church - Paula and Randy White- & they brought comedian Ricky Smiley to entertain the people

This really aggrivates me. Following the Lord is not about turning the Lord into your sugar daddy, your best friend, your genie, or your own yes man. Submit to the Lord and obey him, its not about you! Do not turn Jesus into your little giggly, smiling best friend, because he isnt! He is superior to you, he was sinless, and he DIED for you!
You are a sinner in need of a savior, and a broken mess without Jesus. So how about you show Christ respect and become obedient to him, rather than turning him into your own smiling, giggling false idol.

But even if they read a bible, they're not reading the Bible. The KJV is the very word of God perfectly preserved in the English language. The modern day translations are actually heretical in so many locations.

No they aren't. Many are more accurately translated as they come from earlier texts than the kjv. And the kjv wasn't event the first English translation. The standard is the original texts. In lieu of having those, the closest thing we have to them become the standard. That is NOT the kjv. I was so shocked to find out that an old friend of mine from over 40 years ago, was into this movement, and going to this church, and my sisters husband went to Bethel church about 5 years ago to get healed from cancer, and of course he never got healed. They both seemed to be into prosperity.
Who does the healing - Bethel or Jesus? Remember when Jesus went to His hometown? He couldn't heal many people because of their unbelief. People are much more likely to be healed miraculously in third world countries because their faith hasn't been tainted by the world and by unbelief.

My husband and I went to Bethel for about a year in 2008. It got worse and crazier every week until we walked out and never went back. We ended up looking for a Charles Stanley type church. Hard to believe looking back now.

You probably wanted a church that holds God at arm's length and isn't open to the moving of the Holy Spirit. You want to be ankle deep in the Holy Spirit rather than being immersed in the Presence of the Holy Spirit. Or, maybe you were only open to getting your toes wet. Or, maybe not even that. My church is kind of like this, especially the worship team. I’m really struggling to figure out what to do whether I should grab my family and leave. The hard thing is is I’m so tired to my church. I work there as a maintenance man not only am I own staff payroll I am living in a house with all bills paid. I really am getting burnt out with all the goofy stuff when my pastor opens the word he does pretty good and the fundamentals all right but there’s just not enough teaching. They are more geared toward giving people the Jesus experience. We do have a rehab where we take guys off the streets I’ve seen some lives changed, but I am aware that in spite of bad doctrine, some people will steal be saved. My pastor is not a rich, blasted guy. He is always sharing what he has but when we get inside the church it’s just not the great teaching or anywhere near what I get from people like Justin peters or John MacArthur they believe at my church that the presence of God can be felt and experienced in such a way that someone’s life can be changed I don’t know if any of this makes sense I guess I’m just crying out for help.
We have to make sacrifices for Jesus. I pray you work out your situation so you can leave the blasphemy and God dishonoring behavior, even if it means you don’t live the same way as before.
I pray that you seeking God's counsel on this and may He establish your steps.

I suggest that you start by attending a bible teaching church and continue at your current church. With time and prayer. The Lord will open doors for you. Seek the truth. His word. His way. Once you start hearing the "real" word. He will speak to you. You will be O.K.
I was there, you just have to get up and leave. It’s better to be without a church then to stay in one for the sake of a Sunday service. I’m currently in a Bible centered church.

I attended a church with my daughter and granddaughters. My daughter gave me this card that we read every time we were at that church. I'm floored because it's the same words that these people are speaking and I had no idea until just now. I left that church because when they moved into their fancy new place, all of their personalities changed and they were about money and stuff!
