I've been wearing press-ons since I was 19. There's nothing better! So cost effective, have never damaged my natural nails, and there's such a huge selection... You can find any style, shape, color, length. I only to replace mine approximately 4-6 weeks depending on the quality of the brand. When they grow out, it looks like gel nail growth. I've had mine done professionally and it's expensive and the upkeep is ridiculous. Love my press-ons!

Have all the goodies to start doing my own press-ons. My new nail lamp arrived yesterday! Love, love, love this set! Can't live without my iced coffee!!! 😋 My local favorite coffee shop is Mr. B's and my favorite iced coffee is called "Gettin' toasted." It's so yummy!!

I've been a Dunkin iced caramel latte girl for a long time, I only drink iced now!
I have so many eyeshadow colors I'll never use so this is a great solution! I only wear nude eye shadow, at my age is better! I'll save the wild colors for my nails, lol! This project is amazing, very beautiful and I will definitely try it!

I am no expert, but I find stuff about seasonal color analysis fascinating, so I've researched it a lot, and they say you can't tell undertone just by looking at a person, BUT if I had to guess, you're cool, based on the colors I've seen that look good on your nails. And they say people naturally gravitate to colors the work for them, and silver is a cool color and you said that's what you always wore.
Anyway, these nails are gorgeous. I have that same eyeshadow palette. Can't wait to try this!
I've been into dip powder lately, but I've used press ons since the 90s and I love them. I used to just buy plain ones and paint them with regular nail polish, but I got into making my own with gel polish recently. That's a lot of fun!

First, I want to thank you for this tutorial. I recently heard about doing nails with eyeshadow and also like you, I had to purchase an eyeshadow palette cause I don't use it or foundation either. In the morning, I just wash my face, use a light moisturizer with spf, do simple eyeliner, mascara and lips, and that's it. I'm done with my face in 10 minutes.
I'm looking forward to doing my nails with the ombre look and now thanks to you, I can't wait to try it!
I may be able to help you with something you requested regarding undertones.
My Uncle was a Cosmetologist to Movie Stars: he did makeup and hair for ZsaZsa Gabor, Joan Crawford and many more. So my Uncle always did my mom's, me and my grandma's makeup and hair for special events (weddings, Christmas parties, etc.) and he of course, always did full makeup on us. When I heard him say "undertone" I asked him, how do you figure that out?
My Uncle simply replied "Check out your veins."
Then he explained: For Italian ladies, you 3 all have different skin tones and undertones.
For example, your mother's veins look greenish, she has medium skin tone with warm undertones. You have blue or purplish-looking veins, you have fair skin with cool undertones. And my Grandma had olive skin tone with neutral undertones (her veins may appear colorless or match the color of her skin).
I certainly hope this helps you figure out your undertones.
I love doing press-ons! I had to start doing them for a gel allergy, but honestly I dont think I'll ever go back to applying them traditionally. Press-ons all the way for this girl!!

To see if you’re cool or warm, look at the veins on your wrist. If they are blue/purple then you’re cool toned and if they’re a greenish olive then you’re warm.
I’m a difficult customer for Starbucks, but my husband and I go every day so they know exactly what I get. It’s a trenta cold brew with 15 pumps caramel, 15 pumps classic sweetener, 10 pumps vanilla, and a single. I somehow came up with that on my own and it is so delicious!! ❤
For undertones, if you look better in silver jewelry, you are probably cool toned or cool leaning neutral. Look at the veins on your wrist. If they look purple or blue, you are cool toned. If green, you are warm toned. If you can’t tell or they just blend in with your skin, you are neutral. You can also try looking in the mirror with a very white paper held next to your face. The white of the paper will help you better see the undertone of your skin. Hope this helps!

I think you have a neutral skin tone, which means you can rock cool or warm colors. You seem to prefer cool or neutral colors.

One time use only? Oh, heck no. I use glue only now, and still rewear them. In fact, I'm wearing a beautiful red set now for the third time!
I'm a coffee lover, however, I'm very sensitive to the caffeine, like you it triggers anxiety. So I drink a lot of decaf.

Girly pop what are you doing for removal??? I tried the soapy water thing - nails didn’t budge. I have to do an acetone soak
@@MarlaKrisWell, I'm still experimenting with that. 😄 Regular nail glue pops off my nails, but the ones I've found that work well for me, work too well. My nails won't let go, even with acetone. So I put a coat of regular nail glue over my nails, then the good stuff around the edges. The part of my nails that won't let go is more in the center, I can usually lift the edges when I want them off and that doesn't damage them. The last couple of times I've used peel base, that works too. It's all learning the balance of how much and how much of the nail to cover.
I got some remover from Modelones, that showed promise, and Carole Annette has a remover in a dropper bottle that I really want to try.
The glues that stay on for me are Fastbond, Makartt, and Modelones. Modelones tubes have a twist open tip that I really like. That's what I'll send to clients as well as using myself.

I’m doing press ons for myself and a few others. But I also love doing my own nails too. Thanks Marla! I have to be so careful on my own nails due to the chemical burns I got last year! Nails have become my oxygen 😂

Aside from wiping the brush on a paper towel after it touches the nail, have a dedicated “glitter” or “chrome” liquid to completely avoid any potential contamination

I just started doing press ons and it’s working out very well for me. Gels make my fingers so itchy so press ons take care of that.
I like making press-ons, I'm also terrible at doing my non-dominant hand, and apparently the sticky tabs work way better for me than gel or glue so i get good use out of press-ons.

Would dip powder work the same as eyeshadow?
Dip powder definitely works, but since eye shadow is pure pigment (no acrylic) I find it much easier and faster
Wish I could wear press-ons. As soon as I wash my hands I have at least one pop off. What are some great products to keep them on? I have tried Makartt glue and double sided sticky tabs.

i've been making press-ons with regular nail polish, i'm a Holo Taco holosexual! I love making press-ons, since i only have two hands ie 10 fingers and press-ons let me paint even more!

Have u tried the solid gel nail glue with press-ons?
Nooooo opaque press ons shouldn’t be attached with gel. The lamp may not penetrate the color and not cure completely and that can lead to contact dermatitis or gel allergies
It works pretty good with transparent press ons. You do need to be careful and ensure it cures entirely on you could have exposure issues and the nails will fall off.
I would love to see you do designs on your dominate hand. ❤

I had a serious flash back when I had my own nail tragedy with a mandolin and a potato. I still can't use one without inwardly cringing.
I feel your pain. I was slicing peppers on a mandolin slicer and took over a quarter of my thumbnail off. It was horrifying. It’s finally grown out enough to where I can do my nails again.
Might you have an olive undertone? Fair to light olives are quite hard to pinpoint🤷♀️

@@MarlaKrisI have no idea what my nail size is. I do have smaller nails. I’ve tried the UNA GELLA extra short square tips. Made sure they fit side wall to side wall put gel on them and by the time I was done they felt really tight on my nails (if that makes sense) .

I'm the same. They lift and fall off in a day. Though I did find that if I put a thin layer of glue over the whole nail then a couple of drops from the brush near the cuticle and then apply cuticle first. I get less bubbling and instant lifting. I also need to clean my nails off with acetone then use dehydrator and primer. I also now have a base/ protective layer of gel. I use the beetle nail glue for my protection layer that I wipe off with alcohol due to the sticky layer being annoying.

I just switched back to press ons after doing gel nails for months. I'm just tired of spending all day on my nails. I also want to change the color frequently so press ons and adhesive tabs just make sense for me. Most people don't believe me when I tell them I'm wearing press ons.

YES! Way easier bc you don’t have the acrylic in the way of the pigment!

I just found you here on YT, this is the first video I’ve seen of yours and if you could please keep the 6th grade boy humor coming, I’d appreciate it- and I’ll totally sub right now 😆Half the thoughts in my head are along those lines and I’m sure you can relate that in most settings, most of my inner narrative shouldn’t be broadcasted out loud. Always some dumb, forever crude response to things people say…it’s my “condition”, one that most grew out of when they’re no longer 12 years old-that part just didn’t happen for me (and I’m secretly okay with it )🤣
Anyway, lovely video, beautiful set. I sell press-ons locally and can relate that it’s like my calming therapy. I started out just like you as kind of a hobbyist and many years later became a “pro”. Now have a solo set up in a suite inside of a self-care,wellness-based spa; it’s crazy, people actually give me their money to do my favorite thing ever ♥️ 🥹😂
