Just taken delivery of my left handed fiesta red one and I am truly amazed how they can produce an instrument of this high quality at such a low price £105😱, Harley Benton are simply the best instrument makers around.👍♥️🎸👍

The stock pickup sounds great. Who needs Fralin or Seymour Duncan? I can't tell the difference and this bass sounds good to me.

Yes, it‘s hard to believe what you can get for so little money…

Hello! It is a fantastic bass. I made some improvements similar to yours but I added a Lollar pickup that sounds incredible (the Roswell is very close) I put the CTS potentiometers (but by feel I almost prefer the original HB ones, they look much nicer To the touch, the CTS also make noise....) and a .1nF orange drop capacitor, I think it has been an incredible bass for a ridiculous price.

I watched this video, although it wasn't stricktly necessary :)))

Great video. So the tape wounds are noisier than flats for instance?
I will be changing the neck if I get such a bass, but will the tuners fit 70s Fender tuning machine holes I wonder? They’re like 4,5 x 4.5 cm

Thanks! Large vintage style tuners probably won’t fit, but I haven’t tried it.

I have a question regarding paint vs copper tape shielding. I have a bass that has a significant amount of buzz when nothing metal is touched, especially when treble is cranked up. The paint shielding passes the continuity test tho, but it feels like Schrödinger shielding xD Do you think that copper tape can reduce the amount of buzz?

I‘ve had that problem usually on basses with shielding issues so it could be worth a try to use some copper tape. The important thing is to get some tape with conductive adhesive.

@@basstelkeller This can also and most likely be a grounding problem. Make sure the bridge is well grounded as well as the pots and if you do shield, that should also be grounded or else the shielding does nothing.

@@gilpi552 Of course the bridge should be grounded properly. This is the first thing to check with that kind of effect. But I‘ve had these problems even with properly grounded bridges and better shielding helped to reduce the buzz.

It is not much work to change the cheap-looking glossy surface of the white pickguard to matte using scotchbrite. Makes a lot of difference, visually.
