    I have this machine and I love it. This is my second one. I had a used older model, but now have a new M6 model. My son and I are extremely happy with our purchase.

    I have one & I purchased it thinking that it would be more of an elliptical. The stride is too short for an elliptical feel. The machine is brutal & you can get a good workout if you can manage to stay on it. I have struggled to stay on it more than 10 minutes. 2 minutes is like an eternity & my legs are on fire from even the lowest resistance. Also, I feel it too much in my knees.

      I had the same problem when I bought my C2 rowing machine . Each time I tried a ten minute row I nearly died and thought I had wasted my money. Try using the machine for 30 seconds on and 90 to 130 seconds off and add a few seconds on each week . It took a while but I have made it to 20 to 30 minute rows now and I’m in my sixties .

      @garagegymreviewseverything do you think the Bowflex max trainer is a harder workout then the Assault bike or schwinn airdyne some call it Satan's tricycle lol ?

      So glad this isn’t just me. I’ve had mine since prior to the pandemic and can’t get into it because of this. Im now committed to giving this another try in short intervals until I build up. Health is going to crap so I need to do something.

    For those on the fence: DO NOT BUY ANY BOWFLEX MACHINE!!
    They lock all their software that's ALREADY INSTALLED behind an annual subscription. I get that if you want to use a live trainer, you could access that behind a paywall. But for software that's already installed? Absolute insanity. Until they change their subscription based access, steer clear.

    Is the Octane MTX an upgraded version of the M6 or of another Bowflex Max Trainer model?

    Can you see your Cal being burned on this machine?

    • @norcalkid2776
      @norcalkid2776 Před 7 měsíci +2

      Yes, all Max Trainer model consoles will show your calorie burn in 3 areas of the screen (scroll to the video 5:54 mark to see the M6's full screen) as follows:
      1) The big orange needle moves like a tach/speedometer to show your real-time, current calorie/minute burn rate from 0 to 40 calories/minute in an analog format.
      2) The lower LCD section of the screen has a field that shows the calorie/minute values in a digital format and displays in 2 ways:
      - While pedaling, it mimics the big orange needle to show your real-time, current calorie/minute burn rate from 0 to 99.9 calories/minute.
      - When not pedaling, it switches to show your AVERAGE calorie/minute burn rate from 0 to 99.9 calories/minute.
      3) The red, 4-digit, 7-segment LED display near the center of the screen will show your TOTAL calories burned.

      A stepper thats just a stepper, is different though. This is like if a stepper and an elliptical machine had a baby. It's a hybrid of the 2.
