I wish I was able to afford Electric guitar 10 years ago I am 40 years old and am just starting to slowly getting to the point where I am okay or good at guitar. You on other hand @JJ are at a guitar goddess level. Playing Through the fire and flames without seeming to break a sweat is on another level and makes my music sound like nothing.

I really need to check out FFDP. Their riffs sound awesome whenever you play them. But this whole thing was just packed with cool riffs. What a great decade for metal. It must have been really hard to narrow it down. Haven't listened to City of Evil in ages. Bat Country is such a good song and seems really fun to play. You picked an excellent range of bands and did a fantastic job nailing their tones. I love how versatile your AZ is! An epic list and awesome playing to match. Outstanding. \m/

Thanks Jassy, I only found out about the Digitech Whammy/The Drop pedals a few weeks back from the Agufish channel. I thought he used to restring and downtune the guitars he was testing - but the pedal came up in his 2021 guitar collection video. I found some reviews of the units and compared them against similar pitch-shifter/octave pedals but the Digitech seems the best. I was going to downtune one of my guitars to below DropC and was concerned about having to open up the nut slots, let the neck settle, adjust relief and intonation etc. And not mess it up. This is a life-saver and now that I know you use one too and it works really well - I'm sold and need to get one.

There was one riff on this list that I'd never heard before that completely blew me away - ONLY FOR THE WEAK - I downloaded the original tune almost immediately - that soaring melancholy musical phrase stirred my soul. When it comes to metal riffs, two bands are complete masters - Judas Priest and Rammstein. They have totally nailed the three essential elements of a classic metal riff: simple, memorable, powerful.
