  • Here is my first gameplay video of both another London Racer game and another Davilex game. Unfortunately, the PC and PlayStation 2 versions of this game, altogether, never came out in North America despite, once again, the inclusion of American cities and vehicles. That's why last year, I added it to Part 1 of My Custom North American NTSC PlayStation 2 Game Release Front Covers slideshow video series. It basically combines several elements from USA Racer (Police Chase), London Racer II and Autobahn Racer IV, but it has improved graphics and a new nitro system. Very interesting, isn't it?
But comparing to said previous games, the new nitro system, in which it drowns out some of the audio, creates a blur effect and plays a stock wind sound effect make it hard to win races, and it shows! You'd think this game could have definitely seen a North American NTSC release for the American content alone, but I guess European racing isn't a relevant thing in the United States and Canada. Still, releasing it in both North American countries would have been a little more fair than just releasing it only in Europe. But this game is a lot of fun nevertheless.
Anyway, I play through a few singe-player modes, such as Tournament. Along with USA Racer, I purchased this game on amazon.co.uk and played it via my UK PAL SCPH-75003 PlayStation 2. There is not much footage for this game here on CZcams, so decided that this one was worth the shot. Enjoy!

Yep! That's what's interesting about this Europe-exclusive video game.

@@CEO100able I didn't have this on my Ps2, but it does look familiar, and it also looks very hard to control.

Which of the London Racers on PS2 do you recommend?

Well, let's go over one installment at a time in order to explain which installments I would recommend choosing and would not recommend:
      1. London Racer II is a very rushed reskin of USA Racer, in the sense that it uses the same exact game engine, graphics, and some other understandable choices, but it lazily uses vehicle sound effects that don't match up all the cars involved as well as the Chicago Police car in the Las Vegas and New York locations. Plus, the American-styled main menu music was even reused from USA Racer as well for some reason. If you can look past these things, though, I would recommend it.
      2. London Racer: World Challenge (the installment that this gameplay video is about) made up for the strange things London Racer II had since all of its vehicles used their own sounds and it featured a variety of content from several previous Davilex racing games released around Europe and combined them into one. It has a new championship mode, plus all locations retained the same fantastic fictional radio station music. Even then, Davilex still didn't bother using proper police cars for all of their respective US locations, plus a few races and challenges are based excessively for trial-and-error, but are actually worth getting used to.
      3. London Racer: Police Challenge is totally different since it mainly consists of missions where you have to work as a police officer around Europe to stop and arrest various road offenders. Some missions get tiring and aggravating, especially after at least several tries, but for the most part, they're very enjoyable. As a bonus, though, you can also do solo races around the UK, France, Germany, and Italy.
