- I got the new carburetor in the mail finally. It looks like an identical match and the bike runs perfect with it. Overall a great little project and I’m glad I could bring this bike back to life so that someone else can get some enjoyment out of it!
Stay tuned and don’t forget to comment, like and subscribe. I am going to be throwing together mini-series of all the vehicles I work on and all other vehicles we work on including my any of my friends.

Thanks man you help me figure out my issue appreciate it. my throttle cable was sticking somewhere
No problem! Glad I could help!
Ordered one for my daughter's crf100 hope it works 🙏
I'm having the same issue on the same bike. Cleaned the carb. In a ultrasonic cleaner. Checked all the jets and passages, all clear. Start it up and runs like it's choked. But it's not on. Rich running, adjusted idle and air mixture. Nothing changed. Didn't even kill the bike. Checked valve clearance.
2K on the intake side. 4k on the exhaust side.. I'm betting a new carb after seeing your issue. Both idle and air mixture are out about 1.5 turns. Like I said you can turn them while it's running and it doesn't change.. I was thinking of a new carb. Unless you have another trick that I don't know of. Great video, thanks for posting..
Thanks for stopping by! Ya I tried my hardest to get that original carb to work but it would never run like it should. So after roughly 2 days of fooling with it I just bit the bullet and bought a brand new carb. Low and behold, that bike ran like and absolute champ after I installed it. Cranked on the first kick every time.
I found that the spring that holds the choke flapper closed broke on my friends bike.
You can't fix that.
Also, when you'd rev the bike out, the choke would disconnect from the lever and choke itself out.
Sometimes you just gotta replace the carb.
I trying to put mine on and do you remember how long the 8mm bolts/screws you used are? And is it 8mm diameter in the new one. I pulled the old screws out of the OEM carb but like you say, you can't pull the little square nuts out of the old carb as they are "locked" in. Might just have to take the carb to Ace hardware and find something that matches. At the end of the day, they are just two bolts but wanted to ask. :-) ALSO: did you have to tinker with the air/pilot screw at all?
I have a tub in my garage like an old man where I keep spare nuts, bolts, and washers lol. So I managed to have 2 matching bolts I saved from the petcock replacement I did. If I were you, I would just go to ace hardware or some hardware store and see which one fits it. I simply just got lucky and had them laying around.
How far out do you have your idle and air mixture screws? Just purchased and this bike is running full idle no matter how I turn them.
While the bike is running, twist the main screw in until it drops idle to where it is about to cut off. Then back that screw out about a quater turn. That should get the bike idling around where you need it too.
What was wrong with the other carb? Dirty jet?
The slided for the throttle was seized in the carburetor and no matter the method I tried it wouldn't come unseized.
what’s the carb name and where did you buy it ?
Link in the description!
Is this a Chinese eBay carb
It is. Honestly, people complain about Chinese carbs but I've yet to have trouble with one that I have used.
I unfortunately snapped off the pilot jet (still not sure how) by turning a small wrench on the main jet to get out and it hit it and snapped like a toothpick. I am about to order one from Amazon and I know its not going to be Honda quality and not last 25 years like Honda but for $25 and the end of the day is metering fuel. Thanks for the video, makes me feel a little better it actually fit w/o problems and she started up. Heck, even if I have to replace a carb every 5 years for $20, I'll take it. Not that I won't watch Ebay for a Honda OEM Keihin for a good price but nothing like a fresh new part!
