- čas přidán 3. 01. 2021
- This calculus video tutorial explains how to use the disk method and the washer method to calculate the volume of a solid when the region enclosed by the curves are rotated around the x axis, y axis, and non axis or another line parallel to the x or y axis. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems for you to work on. It shows you how to set up and evaluate the definite integral. Techniques include expanding a binomial expression and basic integration rules.

WHAT!? still searching videos for math help? are the videos from 2006 really helping? Are you tired of videos not getting you anywhere in math class?
No I got The Organic Chemistry Tutor helping me
Well, you know what they say about math from 2006!!... Nothing cause math is math.
Big agree there. As well as Nancy Pi, Kahn Academy, and Krista King Math. That commercial gets on my nerves so much
@Johnathan Remington That's probably a scam. I've seen this before. Both thaddeus and johnathan joined on March 6 2021 with completely normal names and no profile pics. They're bots. I saw something like this before in another comment section but with free ipads or whatever.

What was said in 1.5 hours in lecture has been summarized in 20 minutes and efficiently shown! Another win for OCT 🔥
Currently taking an accelerated Calculus 2 class over the summer your videos have been so helpful. Thank you for being so clear and concise.
Same, I had to retake it this summer and this time around I've been watching these videos. So far I've been doing much better.
Bruh summer calculus II has been kicking my ass. I missed the first week and I have to catch up even though we’re doing one section everyday 😭
Hang in there everyone! Yes it may be hard but it will also be over before you know it!

You really know how to teach well and effective. I didn't know even the basics about the disk method. Then I watched your video and did the examples and watched as you solved them. I even solved the last one without writing anything down. You really teach well. Thanks a lot!

Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for a detail explanation of the Disk and Washer Methods in Calculus Two. Drawing the graphs of different functions in order to compute the Volume of a Solid, increases my overall understanding of this topic from start to finish. Wow, this is convenient! Right before my test for this too!
absolute life saver, I was absent the day we learned this. my teacher doesn’t have notes and doesn’t show all the steps or explain anything at all. thank you 😅

correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the washer method the one that involves two functions on the graph (ex: y = 2x, y = 5x + 1)? If so, I didn't notice the washer method in this video, only the disc method.
You are right but they are basically the same thing anyway. As you said, the washer method involves two functions and you apply the disc method twice and substract the little one fromm the bigger one.
@@paulagaona9622 nope they aren't.
washer method covers rings, disc method covers ,well discs and shell method covers both.
