Ethan, like i always say things have a way to working out. Glad to see you getting something in the ground. I think that the conditions we're as good as any for your Grandma's.
We have the same problem here in PA, I was able to get my vegetable ground planted around the end of April, dad has been trying to get beans in the ground for a week or so but no dry days for the next week or so, he told me this morning he's trying to rent our county's no till drill because there's not enough time to dry down enough for a tillage pass then dry down again enough to get our drill over the ground
We haven't gotten anything done in Southeastern Indiana. Good ole Ohio Valley clay ground. Neighbors put some corn in two weeks ago, but got heavy rains after, 1.5 inches in 24 hours. Not looking like a great stand, glad we held off ultimately.
Some years there is just no good stretch of weather. Been going gangbusters here in eastern ND . But this is our normal seeding/planting date. Rained out today.
Feels like it hasn't stopped raining here for a month. Like, I did see the sun today for a few minutes, then overcast, then dark skies & thunder showers, oops a couple more minutes of sun & now it's night again & sprinkling... Hayfield is loving it but hay don't pay like corn or beans.
The rain has been wild this spring, glad you're finally getting something done. Home from work today because it's raining again. Maybe we will get something done ...eventually 😂
Worked up good we are hoping to get back in the fields by Friday hopefully. But Oklahoma can’t seem to make up its mind on rain. We are gonna be cutting it close this year. Guess we will find out since the seed is paid for.
At least you broke the ice on planting the 5 acres, like you said, the hardest part is initially getting planting, once the first few acres are in it tends to go. Take care OFB🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Ethan, it's good that you were able to get some ground planted. Hopefully the weather will hold out where you can get the rest of your ground planted fairly soon. Thanks Michael
Take the good days when ya can. Just alittle somthing to reflect on, just a simple ear plug to help muffle noise some. Trust me your ears will thank you in later years. You know what they say, if it was easy everybody would do it. Take care
Beans are about all we have left around here for the most part. Corn and rice are in (which corn and rice are always put in around April down here), so beans are all that's left. And cotton for some guys, but we don't do cotton much on our research farm, so...
well i will say this one the other farms i follow swears by having his beans in the ground and blooming around the longest days of the year so they can get all the sun in them long days to up yield
That old Oliver sounds good when working her
Krása a nádhera. To je farmaření jak má být. Tak ať se Ti to zelená. ❤ God bless for all farmers around The World.

Great to see your getting things planted, hoping for great results
Woohoo, always a great feeling. I'd like to find another 100 acres of Indiana dirt to...
good luck sir. I hope every thing works out.

At least you got something in the ground, which is saying something for the kind of weather we've had in the East this spring.
Good job! Thanks for sharing video.
The 66 sure does sound good. Hopefully you can continue making progress. Thanks for sharing and I'll see you later.
Your not alone Farm Boy! Some crops are up here and lots to go. Steady by jerks!
I hope you can get some corn planted soon buddy
Sometimes you just have to mud it in and nothing else to do

I cannot imagine how many miles you have driven that 66.

If it's too wet that's what packs the shit out of ground
If 90 percent of ground works ok that's Michigan. Them Illinois boys are spoiled, if they had to farm mich dirt they would cry like a day care choir.

Good one thanks
Worked some ground at my place here today. It was pretty bad

Best of luck Ethan
I bet it felt good to get some seed in the ground!
Yup, it's already the middle of May and your back is up against the wall, so planting it is!
I live in north central Indiana I love the dirt here too buddy
👍
Hey Ethan,,new mag mount before spring,,lol
i can almost smell that!
At least you got to make a start planting it sure is difficult this year
True but it also beats the drought we had last year and the wildfire smoke.
I have a Oliver 77 diesel
what did you plant ?
Do you still have that other sprayer?
He does. That bigger sprayer isn't a big priority right now.
