I think DeSantis should throw his weight and support behind Trump. Being a Vice President for 4 years will be a good primer for him to run in 2028. When Trump is done with De Santis there, nobody can contest DeSantis then. Then 2028 is in the bag for him. The timing is not right for DeSantis to oppose Trump now in a race. Although I believe DeSantis is a better candidate in the long term, I think the world needs Trump now.
DeSantis was able to some first hand experience in Washington when he was in the House of Representatives from 2013-2018, but I don't think that he's experienced the level of pressure and cut throat mentality that Trump has. Trump admitted in his CPAC speech earlier this year that he really didn't know Washington was as corrupt as it is. I see alot of similar characteristics between Trump and DeSantis with differences in approach and charisma. I think they both could benefit from working side by side. The present administration, if you want to call it that, has placed the American people in harms way each and every day, economically..militarily, and strategically in every avenue. Rule of law, constitutional rights, personal freedoms, honor, and integrity have been thrown out the window by embedded, career politicians. I am very saddened and angry with this administration over the damage that they have done to a country that I and many true Americans love. Unfortunately, they have comprehension as to the meaning of the word shame.
