- Exactly to the day it is now 12 years since we as TWINNIES had our first big TV appearance with our song “Bayernmädels” at Andy Borg’s tv show "Musikantenstadl" on March 7th, 2009 in front of 6 million viewers! 📺 On the occasion of this anniversary, I would like to give you a few insights behind the scenes. Of course, that's only a small part of what we experienced there, but the video at least gives you a feeling for the many rehearsals, meetings, interviews and even a little prank 😏 At that time, my friend Astrid and I were only 12 and 13 years old and in retrospect it is really crazy to perform live on TV with a Styrian harmonica on inline skates. It was also a completely new challenge for the camera team, because after all, it had to be precisely timed when we were going where and, above all, how fast, so that we were back in the right place at exactly the right time - not too early and definitely not too late. But everything worked out wonderfully and we really like to think back to that TV appearance! And yes, we are still very good friends today 💕 Have fun with the backstage insights! I first watched this video in 2014 while watching various songs on CZcams, I play guitar. Your video popped up and I just had to watch two girls on rollers skates playing accordion. The song made me feel happy. I started watching videos of traditional music and decided to learn to play the Steirische harmonika. I bought my first harmonika from Strasser and a couple of books from Michlbauer and taught myself how to read griffschrift. Now I have instruments from Strasser, Krinner, Tauscher and Alpen. I'm proof you can teach an old dog new tricks. Ciao from Arizona.

Thanks so much for posting that video! What a wonderful memory for you! "Bayernmadels" is the happiest three minutes on CZcams! To tell the truth, I liked Bayern Madels ever since I first saw them in 1984, when I lived for two years in Neu Ulm; I was stationed there with the US Army. I have very fond memories of my time there. We went there in 2013 for vacation. It was good to be back in Bavaria. Wonderful place, just love it there.
Thanks for posting the complete songtexte. I had most of the song translated, but I was not sure about the last verse. That is so helpful in learning German. Yes, I can actually sing "Bayernmadels", just not around anyone who likes their hearing. 🤪
