I really like these shock absorbing towers, it was really interesting to watch. But it seemed like the time it takes the marbles to return after being launched over the tower was exactly how long it takes the cannon to return to its upper limit. So balls that are overshot will almost certainly be overshot again and again.

Yeah, every ball shooted over the tower is shooted over the tower again. It only could back in time if they had the luck to hit the floating marble which generate another one.

Didnt enjoy this one - the cannons were synchronised with the distance the balls travelled, so blue ended up firing the same volley over the tower repeatedly. It should have been that the cannon movement made that volley get lower and lower over time.
Agreed max distance without interruption seemed nearly the same as the speed of its rotation. So plenty of times both sides get stuck in overshot volleys. With blue noticeably worse off for the second half

Sucks how the ball waves are always out of sync with the cannon angle.
That's a natural consequence of having no backstop.
Since all marbles are launched at the same speed, and return at the same speed, the time it takes for a marble to return is only based on the angle it was shot at.
Thus, there is a particular range of angles of the cannon where, once shot, the marble will travel exactly far enough to return to the cannon in phase with the angle that it launched at. It becomes trapped in that phase, as do any other marbles randomly falling into that range of cannon angles.

this brand of tower was really satisfying as you can actually see the damage being done as the bow-ties shear off the top.

Idea for castle destruction. This would be pretty complicated to make but it's an idea and would be totally epic if it were functional.
You have [for this example] 3 "castles" on each side, lined up one behind another and each one getting larger the farther back it is, like a watchtower, then a fort, then a full castle. Each of these structures could have their own wall-making canon and would produce siege machines that would move forward to attack the other sides castles and siege machines. Only the front non-destroyed tower would produce siege machines, and the power of the machines produced would scale to which tower is producing it. The farther back the stronger. [Example, the watchtower only produces small canons, the fort makes normal sized canons and small canons, and the castle produces small canons, normal sized canons, and long-range catapults that fire small explosive projectiles]
The speed at which these machines are produced can be controlled by "mines" in the center and behind each structure, the mines in the center can be captured by either team and the ones behind the structure just get destroyed with the structure. The mines can have a few marbles bouncing around ["mining"] and each time a marble hits a certain point it would send a bit of energy to fuel the machine creation, every X energy a machine is made.

You can tell this isn’t chromakeyed by looking at the blocks at the top of the towers after being shuffled around. These textures were *hand programmed.*

Loved the shock absorbing! So nice to watch! Interesting to have the balls not collide after the initial hits. That helped the tower settle and almost heal after the hits.

Water was at a VERY unfair disadvantage. Every time the marbles came back the cannon was in the upper portion so it would miss so it had to wait for the marbles to come back. This put it in an endless cycle.
