I can so relate to saransh. I lost my mom at 9 and since then I had so many complex issues like we changed location and I for long lied to all my friends saying my mom lives away and stuff. Pretending to be a perfect family. It gets so complicated. I had tears when he talked about it like whole of my childhood days were infront . I am glad he found a partner like you who understands and respects his insecurities. All my heart for u brother. Wish I could hug u

Hey Pooja! You answered my question and I can't thank you enough for that. We received our PR last year and have not been willing to move to Canada (BTW we did a soft landing and came back to India after 25 days). We have a HUGE family here and no body stays in Canada. It is really hard to leave everyone behind, takes a lot of courage. We are planning to drop the plan of shifting to Canada so that we do not regret on small and big occasions and miss our family. Covid delayed the whole PR thing for us, had it happened on the right time, we may have thought about moving, but yeah! we have to make a decision anyhow. Thank you for answering

My husband's story is similar as Saransh..his parents divorced and he was raised by his paternal grandmother and chacha. His father passed away when he was 15 and his mother remarried and he has a half brother. He looks at his chacha like a father and he has a very strained relationship with his mom before we got married coz he felt abandoned by her but i have really pushed him to mend it and kept inviting her to our place for dinner etc and it's better now.

Yeah I do feel people and extended family in India ask too many personal questions which is not a thing in abroad. But people are just concerned and excited to know if you’re planning your next move in life. We have a lot of family values it is a cultural thing.
