    Hi Jack, at last a new video from you, as an old-timer spark I agree with you about showing non-sparks how to do the job properly, as you said they are going to do the job, so may as well do it the correct and safe way, Regards from Ray the old sod from North Wales.

    Great video Jack,thoroughly enjoyed that,and good on you showing the proper procedure for the wiring cos as you say diy'rs will do it anyway as youtube is the first place people go to when they want to save money and have a go themselves,when I was a Motor Mechanic and Auto Electrician in 70's and 80's there was no youtube and some of the botched diy jobs I had to correct were downright dangerous,obviously not high voltage but dredded Scotchloc connectors feeding accessories left right and centre causing burnt out wiring looms and vehicle fires, and worst when it was mechanical with failing breaks etc,big up big pal

    • @JRCElectrical

      Your right Ricky mate, we used to do a local council contract and once saw an electric shower plugged in to a socket with a light switch under the shower head to turn the shower on and off, how they didn’t get killed or even burn the switch or socket out is beyond me 😂

  • @anthonybragg
    @anthonybragg Před 4 měsíci +1

    You have got to be the first electrician stripping the new T&E cable as you would (and I ) with cutters how did you find it? Also, fair play for using the correct trunking adaptors it does make for a better finish. Was there no option to have the outbuilding on its own circuit from the consumer unit?

    • @JRCElectrical
      @JRCElectrical  Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah mint mate it’s class cable, I’ve done a few rewires in it already and it’s been ace. Strips as normal.
      Yeah trunking adaptors look a lot better finishes the job off nicely, there was an option but it would have ruined a lot of the garden and the fusboards were on lowest floor of house which was underground and as you can imagine by the garden, the house was mint
      As no plans to put electric heating in there we were all good with this option

  • @johnmcfadden7418
    @johnmcfadden7418 Před 4 měsíci +1

    Hi Jack Nice video , andyour right you may aswell show it all . I dont know what the mains into the house is ie TNC-s or what but assuming it is TNC-s should you not place an earth rod at the summer house and not connect the cpc at the fused spur? I know there is no right or wrong way to do this as so many sparks say different just wanted your take on it thx

    • @JRCElectrical
      @JRCElectrical  Před 4 měsíci

      I would probably rod it if it was this far away from the house and it was a metal building to be fair but aslong as the readings are fine and writhing limits I think personally it’s fine

  • @TheCod3r

    I know it's not yours, but damn that shed is flimsy. Those pre fab sheds are so poorly made it's unreal. Great job on the electrics though. At least one thing is done correctly lol...
    Also, one more thing. I'm one of those DIYers who will do the work myself. I'll be installing a new garage unit into a new workshop soon. Would you test and sign? If so, how much? (I live in Willenhall, just outside Wolverhampton).
