Sims 2 Let's Play | BACC - Hard&Harsh S01E02 | It's about to get messy!

- In this episode we start crafting our first essential items for their survival and try to ignore the huge piles of trash laying around and the smell arising from the sims not showering, due to a water shortage.
In this series we do our version of a sims 2 BACC in a post-apocalyptic world, hard & harsh style. 12 survivors, only one cart, a few seeds, a few tools and their last rations to start their settlement with. In an attempt to bring the survival & crafting games to the sims 2, with the help of all of sun & moon mods (link below), the sims will have to survive using farming, fishing, resource gathering and scavenging for useful items.

I would love to try this style of gameplay! Would you happen to have a mods/cc list? Maybe a Pinterest of the items you’re using?
Ohhh, I really love the idea with the treasure chest, that's so smart!
By the way, one thing that can probably help a lot with inventory management, is using the "I" button for adding stuff to the sim's inventory rather than drag and dropping. For instance, at 36:27, you can hold "I" and then just click with the mouse to add.
Thank you, glad you like the idea! I love how it adds to the excitement when you actually find a treasure chest. And I just love adding restrictions in a challenge. 😄 I've also been wanting to add some stuff to the mod ur dig mod, but haven't gotten around to it yet. But it would be really nice to have a better custom set of items there too.
I actually do know about the "I" key. 😄 It's one of those things that I've found myself doing when I was editing. And I think it has something to do with talking and playing the game at the same time. It takes up too much brain space! 😂 But thanks for the tip anyway! It's a very useful tip to know and it did take me some time to figure out there was a key for that. 😊
Also, John and Brandi together is one of my favorite combos.
And, now I might have to take away the water in my BACC. They are having it too easy lol
Ikr! They are soo cute together. ❤️ I saw them in Ani's Pleasantview and this is the first time for me to see them together in my own game. In love with them from the start too. They seem so drawn to each other!
Haha, yeah, I did take the "hard & harsh" seriously... 😄 they will have to work for it! 😁 It will be very rewarding when later on they do get the things they have been missing in the beginning, I think. I noticed you do make your sims work for the walls of their shops though! I'm sure they are not too spoiled! 😄

Oh another video so soon? What a treat! ❤I've been so looking forward to seeing more of this! The inventory management is both fiddly and a nice change of pace. Perhaps it would he nice to eventually have shelves or something that items could be stored on once they are crafted, and where they can be picked up once it's time to use them? Perhaps that would make it feel less like a game mechanic to move items between sims? But it would also eat up a lot of space in the houses I suppose 😂 I LOVE the way you go about crafting!!! That is so clever to use the crafted, gathered and the scrap to build like that. Really inspired! I also adore the detail of the treasure chest unlocking, well I suppose marriage essentially? In a way, it's like the mermaid pendant in Stardew Valley 🥰 It was really cute seeing John drawn to Brandi like a magnet to a piece of metal. I just adore those two together ❤Looking forward to the next part already! Can't wait to see what else you've got in store.

Yes, shelves!😄That's exactly where they will take their next steps to. The old storage area can be filled with shelves again. They did need a few more planks to put shelves together, but in the next episode we'll go a bit more into the inventory management and crafting. One of the challenges of this place will be how they can fit everything in the space they have. Maybe not at first, but after a few advancements they'll most likely need to make choices on what to prioritize or find other ways to store and craft everything they need.

Yes, the goal is to use all of them! 😄 I have almost all of the mods in the downloads folder for this hood and added them to a milestone or achievement in the technology tree down the line, so we will see all of them in action eventually. (still figuring out the new fabrics one and I have my hesitations with the hunting ones, just not sure if I want to go down that road)
And with every scavinging trip outside of the main hood that we do, I will add a new part of the mods to the objects that they can craft or interact with. I can absolutely relate to needing them all! 😂 Once you start with one and find out how much fun they are, and how intricate and versatile they are, you just have to have them all, because it adds so much to the gameplay. 🥰
