  • I have published this previously split into two videos. Now it is here in one video. This is my favourite recording of Reminicsences de Don Juan, recorded live in Stockholm 1986.
Reminicsences de Don Juan is one of the most spectacular show pieces ever written for piano. Franz Liszt summarized Mozart´s opera into some 17 minutes of pianistic nightmare. Pianistic capacity is nearly always limiting the performance of this composition. Juh Hee Suh is a prodigy from South Corea and I remember her performance of Rachmaninovs 3:d piano concerto around 1987 in Stockholm, Sweden. A tiny little girl entered the stage and played with a masculine power that was just unbelievable. I dont´t know how her career continued. Very little is to be found about her at Google.

She was born in 1967 in Seoul, South Korea. She started playing piano at four. She had her first solo recital at nine. She entered Curtis Institute of Music in the States in 1977, studied under Bolet and Fleisher. She won the 2nd prize in the Leeds piano competition in 1984.
She lives in the States but it seems that she does not perform anymore. Her latest concerts in South Korea were in the 1990's.

She's a remarkable pianist, such a shame she no longer performs.
