I have your manual grease pump model # 1296. I can not get it to prime. Even tried adding oil into the cylinder. I'm using NLGI #2 grease, but I also warmed up the grease with a bucket warmer to 40C to significantly decrease the viscosity and give the pump a better chance. Even with 16oz of oil into the cylinder it won't prime. Any other suggestions? Am I not using enough oil to prime? Should I pack the cylinder with grease?

Check for an air pocket at the inlet. This normally is the cause. Try packing the inlet if needed, and cycle the handle slowly. Prime the pump initially without the extension and adapter attached.

Hello, there is a problem that we are facing related to this pump. As mentioned in its instruction manual, If the system is full and free of air, the pump will stop by itself as soon as the pipe outlets are closed. Clould you explain, please, how is it realised? We would like to know more about controlling it automatically.

When you close the control valve, pump will continue to cycle until it has refilled the outlet hose or line and equalized the pressure in the line. Pump will then stall and not cycle until control valve is opened again to dispense. the is the same principal with most air operated pumps.

Hello, on my pump, at the top of the tube that is inserted into the grease barrel, it is leaking grease back into the barrel instead of the hose at the top where it should be. It still sounds like it is pumping but not in the right place and I was wondering if you know of any causes and/or what it takes for repair?

Sounds like the U-cup separating the lubricant side of the tube from the air side of the pump is wearing out and requires replacement. What you are seeing is lubricant discharging out a weep hole in the base of the outlet body which is usually an early warning indicator to perform a rebuild.
