Non-binary is an umbrella term to what doesn't fit in the "female or male" category. It's a label like how you'd label all your kitchen items as, well, kitchen items. Doesn't mean that a fork, spatula, pots and pans are the same thing. It's a broad descriptor. Just like the term "gender".

You could try not using any gendered terms. An example is “Excuse me, do you know where the pool is?”. Another thing you can do is you can use pronouns like he or she, if a person doesn’t use these pronouns then they will correct you. Accept the correction and don’t make a big deal out of it. For salutations, you can just ask them. You can say “What would you like to be called instead of ma’am or sir?” The most important thing is to be polite and respect their pronouns.

You could try not using any gendered terms. An example is “Excuse me, do you know where the pool is?”. Another thing you can do is you can use pronouns like he or she, if a person doesn’t use these pronouns then they will correct you. Accept the correction and don’t make a big deal out of it.
For salutations, you can just ask them. You can say “What would you like to be called instead of ma’am or sir?” The most important thing is to be polite and respect their pronouns.
