Thanks a lot for the beautiful film! I like your style making an effect of presence, a meditative observation. I appreciate your way to give real ambient sound instead of putting music on the background. Music mostly distracts from the place, often gives the associations not fitting the place. Great of you. Sure I'll find time to watch your other travel video. Good luck sir

Thank you for the video! Ilmenau is one of the most beautiful and cozy small towns in Germany. Higher School of Electrical Engineering (now - University) for about 100 years, is one of the most respected and reputable European institutions of higher education.

@intern 004 Hello, apologies for the delayed response, I had not seen your comment, you have Richard (below) to thank for prompting me. My impressions of Ilmenau are that it is a pretty and traditional Thuringian town. The buildings and architecture on the Main Street are like from a post card. It is a quiet rural town with little in the way of nightlife away from the student areas. The university is large and modern and whilst not in the centre of the town is a dominant institution. Ilmenau experiences some weather extremes, very cold winters and very hot Summers. It is foggy a lot during the winter months, which can make the short daylight hours feel quite dark. Ilmenau is also quite a way to reach on the train, it is around one hour from the nearest large city, Erfurt. In the Summer months there is the Alstadt Festival, which is an excellent and free to attend music based event, which covers the whole Alstadt area of the town. Despite its small size, there are at least two large supermarkets and I have never felt that I needed to go elsewhere to buy anything that I needed whilst I was there. In summary, it is a nice and traditional town, it is rural and small and offers a taste of traditional Germany. I like it very much and will be returning in Summer 2023.
