- Steam fps fest is on, I love when steam is doing these, there are always interesting games to find. I have a few games to recommend that you hopefully haven't heard about and might interest you.
The best indie games released in 2024... so far:
• The BEST Indie Games R... - Hry
Thanks for the recs, I don't have the time to try all the demos and wanted some ideas of which ones might be worth sampling. Couldn't find another video like this for the FPS Fest so it's appreciated.
Nice, thank you :)
There was a time in my life when I almost exclusively played FPS games and actually competed in tournaments, though because of the age gap, even back then, everyone assumed I was a narc and was surprised I could actually hold my own (could never beat Dennis Fong, aka Thresh, though). In any case, I keep up with releases, but I rarely play them anymore, with the last game that really stood out to me being _Hyper Demon,_ currently on sale for $4.50 USD and absolutely bananas. I'm also looking forward to the end of May release of _Selaco_ as I'm pinning my hopes on it being _the_ endgame GZDoom title; play the demo if you haven't.
there will never be a true endgame for those sorts of things lol
also, if the story is true, then based - respect to Thresh back then for being sorta the pioneer of WASD as we know it
@the_elder_gamer , Ah cool, I think competitive fps is one of the best things in gaming. Competed in Halo 3, 4 and 5 myself and I always come back to it, not as good as I once was ether as priorities change.
Hyper Demon looks insane and I have high hopes for Selaco myself, looks really cool.
@@SpiritAnden Yeah, I was well out of my FPS phase by the time Halo 3 came out. I was primarily active in the mid-to-late 90s era of FPS games: Quake 2, Unreal Tournament, Tribes, etc. I was mostly a PC person so never really forgave Bungie for pulling Halo from PC for the exclusive Xbox launch. I kept up with FPS titles through the 2000s, but after all the exciting generational leaps of 3D technology in the 1990s (I was one of the first people to buy an Nvidia graphics card in the era of Voodoo2) the comparatively slow evolution of later years didn't captivate me in the same way. That's not to say there weren't lots of great shooters, just that like everything else, there were more and more of them and fewer and fewer stood out to me.
_Hyper Demon_ is initially quite difficult, but once you come to grips with the controls it becomes a fairly singular trance-like experience. It was just one of those games that reminds me why I ever liked video games in the first place. It knows what it wants to be and achieves it, a great example of a dev having "clarity of vision" for a project and single-mindedly getting it done.

Like all the genres within gaming, we have soo many games now that games are never going to be as big as cs, cod or halo was in their prime. You have the outliers like Fortnite but that's not played in a competitive fashion. I really like Valorant for the competitive similarities to cs but with skills and abilities similar to Overwatch. It's a good and refreshing mix.
If you look at halo and cod today, they are a fraction of what they where in the beginning. Cod is a color mess, far from the realistic shooter it once was with outrages microtransactions and no innovation. Halo as well, the core multiplayer experience of Halo Infinite is good now. Wasn't at launch and still have problems with how the ranks and games are facilitated. Big companies thinking more about the money and shareholders than making a good product that take risks. Same is true for Battlefield as well, such a shame.
Where is the game that is used as a screen background at 0:01? 🤪
Cause besides the good old Project Warlock, it's the top item here.
Just art that steam used for the fest I think
@@SpiritAnden Too bad...i'd buy that one no question asked.
Amazing lists!
Thank you so much :)
You forgot the most BASED game on Steam, Fursan al-Aqsa!!!
Hmm, I haven't heard about that one
@@SpiritAnden I am sending you a steam key so you can try my game!

@@SpiritAnden Done!!!

What is the game about?
@@SpiritAnden bro i just found it its called interlopers no1 talks about it thank god i found and again
Battle Shapers looks dope as hell, to bad it's an SBI game. I don't know why does an indie rouge-like shooter needs a consultancy firm.
Many reasons or none, I don't know ether but yea, the game looks good.
either the game is good or it's not, that's all that matters
I would say so as well. It's dangerous to assume things without sufficient evidence.
The Idea that due to a developer possibly wanting to be inclusive (if this is even the case) and have their game appeal to as wide an audience as possible hardly seems like a reason to dismiss a title. I think we all want to live in a safe and welcoming world, so I've never quite understood why people can get so worked up about being kind to folks that are different than we are. Toxic behavior, racism, and sexism isn't something we benefit from as a society. If we need people to help us get over the sticky unwelcome tropes in media, we should be all for it. This isn't the assault (a few) people are making it out to be. I'd say give it a chance and if you don't like it, refund it. Everything else is just pointless drama.
