It's not the mavericks are under rated it's just the usual radio stations payed by record companies to play what they want to promote and what's suited to there ears and gonra they think they know what the public want to listen to 🤔👎..and unfortunately it will never change its been that way from the days of Elvis king of rock n roll till they realised he was a huge talented investment yes sadly gone and the Elvis enterprise is worth millions 🤑the same with rockabilly and real county these gonras are still been thrashed out throughout the world and theyv drove it underground to venues pubs /clubs 👍🤞👏👏👏🏴🇬🇧🇺🇲
Unfortunately in the music industry and world, there are so many great singers and bands around the world even in places like Vietnam and Romania but you need to have your own songs to make it to fame and be recognized as such especially for entry to the Hall of Fame which even Gene Pitney failed to reach. It is also about record companies and money that do the dressing up so great party and concert bands don't get their fair share of glory. Sad but that's how to goes, leaving plenty of hearts broken.
Raul Malo is the man! Been a fan for a long time. One of the greatest male vocalest. The Mavericks certainly are underrated and this performance shows that they are definitely not a band to miss when they come to your town! Thanks for sharing this video.

Its 2024, that was 26 years ago and still timeless. Such a great band, love the keyboard guy. Love the brass, and only one man carries the vocals , just fantastic. Pure entertainment.

Did the same thing several months ago. They did such a fine cover of Gentle On My Mind that I went searching for them and came across their "In Time" PBS concert. I was and am still blown away every time I listen to them...like right now!
Just saw them at Gruene Hall in TX for New Year's Eve. Sounded as good as ever, terrific show! And it was a show, not just a concert - horn, sax accordion, they know how to keep the audience captivated and jammin along with them. Would go see them again tomorrow, and the day after, and . . . . if I could!
It’s great to have the extra songs on this vhs version that really give you the full fantastic Mavericks show compared to the edited version on the DVD.
I remember when this was first broadcast on the BBC in 1998. I've seen lots of gigs from the Albert Hall, and this is hands down the best. Truly brilliant.

I'm living in Belgium and I drove two years in succesion to Germany, 2.5 hour drive for me, to Cologne. Now they pass by every year in Antwerp and I won't miss any concert of them anymore. What a band ... !!!! As been said the best live band ever .... Go on Mavericks.
I first heard the Mavericks when they performed in Australia at the Gympie Music Muster, and then I was absolutely hooked on the band. They are definitely up there eating with the best nana on the planet. The crowd at this Albert hall concert got ten times their money’s worth in brilliant entertainment. Not many bands on this planet can match the versatility and broad range of styles these guys just nail. Please come back to Australia as soon as possible Mavericks.

I saw them on this tour on September 4, 1998 at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo. Damn that was a fine show! In addition to most of what they played in this video, they threw in a totally crowd-pleasing version of "Volver Volver" that had the everyone singing along (on the choruses, at least). That was my second Mavericks show and I've since added another 3. They are every bit as entertaining lately as they were over 20 years ago.
