  • I bought this computer new and used it every day from January 1999 until June 2006. It has been in a box ever since. I thought I'd see if it still works. This video is to honor this 21 year old piece of computer history and a huge part of my life. It is amazing and beautiful. Enjoy!

    That is my most favorite Apple product of all time.
    That computer is my childhood.
    I still have mine and still use it to this day.
    The iMac G3 is probably the most beautiful thing Apple ever made. Wouldn't you agree? :)

    Wow This is so neat to see I just got one off Facebook Marketplace it needs the panel for the usbs to close it because of dust and missing the original plug and Mouse but it is a start to my collection which includes a 2006 MacBook Pro, Early 2008 MacBook by new Tangerine iMac and an iPhone 5S and 7 plus all boxes to any phones and accessories that I have ever been given or bought

    Very cool. To my eyes, the G3 was the pinnacle of Apples "playful" design phase

    Thanks for sharing! Beautiful camerawork and lighting. Just some caution, the PRAM (clock battery) is dead in the machine, there is also a high risk of that battery leaking, or exploding, and damaging or killing the logic board. If you're adventurous (and careful) enough, I'd suggest opening it up soon and removing that battery before it's too late.

      Kelly Newman you’re welcome! If you need any help opening it up let me know. I did a video about the original iMac models and yours should open the same way, good luck! My iMac video: czcams.com/video/0lfF4z-RIz8/video.html

    Lovely retrospective. The first computer I ever bought was a blueberry one. Kept it around to play tunes on until a couple years ago, when my wife talked me into getting rid of it. Good thing she’s a keeper.
    For its time, it was a lovely machine. 😊

    I really do prefer the slot loaders, but this still looks really good even 23 years later.

    I like This iMac

  • @Kurdzo
    @Kurdzo Před rokem +1

    It’s actually a 1998 model as the plastic isn’t glossy, the handle isn’t transparent, the disc tray is different and the speakers
    But still cool
    Edit: I was wrong
    It was a January 1999 model

    • @kellyjnewman
      @kellyjnewman  Před rokem +1

      This is a 266mhz model, introduced on January 5 1999. I think you're probably thinking of the original Bondi blue 233mhz iMac released in May 1998.

      @@kellyjnewman you’re actually correct
      I forgot bro edit my my comment saying I was wrong
      Because I actually did some research
      Sorry for the confusion
