One of my easy favorite work education projects back in my young days in the 60s. I was able to sell the to my neighbors for a good $1 each, so I can buy my favorite Hershey and Nestle crunch chocolate bars for $0.25 each at the time! Now, I'm in my late 60s, I don't have the patience to make them anymore.
Well, you could also add a dusting of crushed semiprecious stone before you pour the cement and then finish the exterior by sanding and polishing... Malachite, colored howelite, tigereye, quartz and many other choices to go around fairly cheaply. I'd also like to see what it would be like, using aircrete to make it lighter...
That is a nice work, but I have to say that by painting it with such bright colors they make it look like plastic,,,, they should paint it with different tones of terra cotta colors to make it look natural.

I love the construction process but I would have put a top gloss on the cement to make it a shiny dark grey, or I would have went with a pearl white for the color.
Grey or white works well , neutral colours I find them to be for pots , they blend in any environment not so much stand out ish . Every one has there own taste of course so each to there own decisions.

They sure like those bright colors in the East don't they. Wish he shows how they use spray lacquer on the sand to help hold the sand from moving during the pour. As well as told you they use mortar with silicate for the fine detail parts of things. But I suppose those are trade secrets 😂.
Looked much better grey. But the video DID show how to sandcast cement. That plant he put in it looked nearly dead compared to the green paint, although I'm sure it was a healthy plant.
