Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine: 'Museveni will end up in the dustbin of history' • FRANCE 24

- In an #interview with FRANCE 24 from South Africa, Ugandan opposition leader #BobiWine said he was "definitely the elected president of #Uganda". Wine, who unsuccessfully ran for the country's top job in January, accused President Yoweri Museveni of "mass murder" and called on the Ugandan people to "liberate themselves" from a "dictatorship". Comparing Museveni to ousted dictators Robert Mugabe, Omar al-Bashir and Muammar Gaddafi, Wine predicted it was "just a matter of time" before the president "ends up in the dustbin of history".

I am Ghanaian-born and never heard of this guy but I like him, last week I read about Museveni condemning the coup in Guinea....I think he's afraid that he may be the next pres to go. I do not understand why some of these African leaders turn their countries into their personal property.

How many actual ‘dictatorships’ are in the African continent? Very few I suppose. Why is it then that even the countries that don’t have ‘dictatorships’ are still backward and non factors in global trade? I am afraid unless we look beyond cosmetic ‘democracy’ and start pondering about these issues, then we shall still remain the basket case of the world!
