    The best receiver. No complaints. My 7.2.4 setup is fantasic! ! Great 2-channel receiver. Gaming is on point. You'd have to spend 2-3 grand more to get a better receiver. Love the dirac!!
    I would definitely recommend.

    The imax enhanced actually plays better if all of your speakers are full range with their own subwoofers I put my system together I have it now

    You can use crossovers for IMAX Enhanced; not sure if it’s a separate category or the main one though.

      Mine just arrived. Took about 5-hours to fully setup. Well worth it. Very warm rich sound all around. Gets VERY loud without sounding pushed, or harsh. I'm using a 5.1.4 setup. Klipsch. Diraq is a MASSIVE improvement over the Pioneer Elite's autoEQ system. Atmos surrounds you in a truly transparent way. It's like being bathed in sound. It's rather freaky.

    Two other key factors are: Only one Sub output AND can not run a 7 channel 4 Atmos setup. So a bit limited. But a solid 5.1.4 AV reciever for sure. I preordered one.

    • @thelonestranger777
      @thelonestranger777 Před 2 lety

      But it can process 7.1.4. You'd just need an amp for the extra 2 speakers. I'm a bit bummed by the subwoofer outs but on the bright side, I won't have to redo any calibrations on my minidsp. I really contemplating getting this receiver but I'm still doing research on similarly priced ones.

    Bit of a complaint. For me, I AM interested in Auro3D. Please forgive my tone - I don't mean to be aggressive; it's only that I'm a bit disappointed that unfounded opinions are so pervasive.
    I may understand the technology as much as any layperson can without experiencing a demo yet. For 20+ years I know what Yamaha DSP can do for the sound field for music listening - I love it. Jazz Cellar for jazz for example is hard to beat, or a larger space like concert hall for orchestral. I have a DSP-A3090, so I understand DSP...and even if I use it only for audio I'm hooked. So I'm not sure where Chana D is coming from when he says that "no one wants Auro3D". And he's not the only one who speaks like this.
    For those who are supposedly uninterested in Auro3D, do they know why it's so? Are they 2-channel purists or do they care only for sound in the context of movies being tickled pink with DTSX and Dobly Atmos and legacy codecs? Or maybe Auro3D doesn't have the marketing platform like Dolby and the masses haven't even heard of it yet, or won't consider it seriously because they haven't heard of it enough? Maybe they don't watch you guys channel and have not seen the interviews with the creator? Maybe the sales staff at the big box stores don't know anything practically (that's for sure), or the store (big box or boutique) doesn't care to put it in a demo room (or if they have, did they put their heart into the room, bothering to acoustically treat it nicely)?
    So I bet it's not so simple that 'we don't care'. We are all so heavily brand influenced (even if we think we aren't), but ultimately we just want to know that we're getting the best. We may not know or care that AMD is 'the best' now, but as long as the laptop has the 'Intel Inside' sticker on it with a '7', we're 'good'. And why? Because Intel is an excellent marketing company that happens to sell chips.
    If I've never heard of it, don't understand it, and some reviewers are blasé about it, unlike Joe, then why would I want it?
    So I think Auro3D isn't being served well by guys like Gene Delascala and Chana D that think Auro3D is dead or not in demand, even if they like it and understand it. Saying that, I really appreciate what these guys are doing, so I mean no disrespect to them.
    I'm willing to bet that a well treated room with Auro3D rig plugged into a dedicated 20A outlet with no DIRAC whatsoever will surpass the most expensive integrated DIRAC rig with $20K in speakers in an untreated room powered by a group of 15A outlets.

      @josefernandez2722 Před 2 lety

      @@TBoogy3 Lol. Some things that should be spoken about in these reviews are either not mentioned or briefly mentioned or mislead you in their description. Bottom line is anyone that wants to upgrade their sound to a full 7.1.4 atmos and wants to relieve the receiver of current strain needs to get a 5 channel external amp like the Emotiva Bassx 5 channel amp for $600

    • @TBoogy3
      @TBoogy3 Před 2 lety

      @@josefernandez2722 thanks. I believe I finally started figuring it all out last night when I should have been asleep. If I understand correctly, you say what you do because you HAVE to use an amp on two of the heights, so if you want to power your front channels , the easiest solution is to get a 5 channel for those 2 heights and the 3 fronts combined? *Which means, $2,000 for an 11 channel receiver at the end of the day.

    • @josefernandez2722
      @josefernandez2722 Před 2 lety

      @@TBoogy3 Yes, if you factor in the cost of the Onkyo with the cost of the 5 channel amp, you are looking at $1400 + $600+ tax. What you can do is live without it for a while until you are ready for the ext amp. Believe it or not , the receivers that come fully capable of powering all 11 channels are above $3000. So doing it this way is still more economical.

    None of this matters until it's actually available. Still can't buy this thing. If Onkyo wants to not die out, they should work on getting this out sooner rather than later. Seems like there's a lot of demand for this receiver. If it was available they might actually sell a bunch. Getting this out before the end of year could be a nice boost to their financials for 2021.
