I remember watching this channel this day. I just got back to the states from living overseas in Panama on Howard AFB for 4 years. We just got to Homestead AFB, living in temp housing. I remember my mother leaving to go shopping and I was watching wheel of fortune with my sister.
These aired 3 days after my boyfriend was born! How cool.
It would be awesome if you could still get seafood platters from Red Lobster. I’ll have to investigate.
I remember Service Merchandise. Loved that store.
Stores opened at a reasonable time on Black Friday and were respectful of people’s Thanksgiving Holiday? Wow...
Fantastic volume, as always!
Nice observation on the Dukes of Hazzard there. That show despite running till the mid 80s never really looked like it left the 70s!
Ah, Service Merchandise. I used to stand in there in the 80s and 90s to play their video game consoles forever.
+FyberOptic I used to go through the Electronics department to look for a deal a deal on a stereo, graphic equalizer and VCR. I bought my girlfriend an emerald ring from there in 1988.
As always. Thankful to you for uploading all these videos! I work in marketing and this just helps me in my professional life.
I love that Old Spice commercial. It's a classic.
I never get tired of that zayre commercial
Not gonna lie, my high ass thought that discount David Hasselhoff was going to get punted by that car! Mid sales pitch, just WHAM, end of commercial.
I'd forgotten all about those Ronald McDonald watches! I think I had a blue one.
I'm surprised they were advertising Atari this late in 84, since I believe this was around the time that the home video game market was dead, until Nintendo would revive it.
And not surprised you don't remember Rose Petal. It was a short-lived Strawberry Shortcake knock off. It got a couple animated specials (with Marie Osmond as Rose Petal!), but never really went anywhere.
The guy who created the Rose Petal characters, though, is none other than David Kirschner, a cartoonist whose work ranges from family films like An American Tail, to creating the infamous Chucky doll in the Child's Play movies!
+yusakug For a minute there you had my mind spinning with the David Kirschner mention. Then I realized I was thinking of Don Kishner from Midnight Special fame. I was thinking, "Wow! He did that too?"
Good timing on this considering the Toys R Us at Times Square is going out of business.
I was eight days old when this aired.
+Raymond Gallant i was four when those commericals aired
I was barely 2 months old lol
+Raymond Gallant WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
ShishkaBerry I myself was 1 & 1/2 , HaHa
Fun fact: That 40 year loan? That single mother is still paying it off!
For the 80's, the Nissan commercial right in the beginning is actually really well done.
tru
I wonder if that was one of the first "Hands" Country Crock commercials?
It's amazing to think you could get pizza delivered in 30 minutes even in 1984.
I vaguely remember the Tyco trucking set, probably just from this commercial. No one I knew had it!
Was it just me, or did the Milky Way ad say that eating their candy bars is sorta healthy?
Always accept food advice from lawmen.
I had some Almaden wine out of a box last year. It made everything into an 80's commercial.
Nice to see 80s South Florida commericals!!!
Ruth Schmeh. Now that's an old lady name.
Why was Barbara Mandrell wearing that funky helmet at 3:00??
9:45 - I wonder how disappointed that kid would be with Atari's Pac Man...
juicy juice says 100% juice but if you look closer its actually 5% ....bastards
I forgot how dope the end of the Wheel of Fortune theme song was!
I think I might have had that Ronald McDonald watch growing up
that's the neighbor from small wonder in the toys R Us commercial
13:32 & 15:05 My favorite commercial bumper!
Was the short haired brunette in the Wrangler commercial in the Dimension shampoo commercial too?
+bmorefunnyman1 The "short haired brunette" in the Dimension ad is Courtney Cox from "Friends". I don't think you get a good enough look at the woman in the Wrangler ad, but it could possibly be her as well.
Was that Paul Frees in the Green Giant commercial?
1:50 Mrs. Wellman from Roseanne, Debra Mooney.
7:48 stu freak'n PICKLES
Voice actor Jack Riley. I believe this might have been one of the first (if not THE first) Country Crock ads with the "hand couple".
wish i remember which video but i seen it on one of your videos before . it could be the same ad but earlier or later air date unknown
Yes, I've posted a few before but they were all from 1989 or later.
For some reason, volume 401 is blocked in my country...would you have an alternative streaming site that would have volume 401? I mean,I have plenty of stuff to tide me over, but that volume actually looked pretty decent-any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for letting me know. It's blocked because it contains about 30 seconds of end credits from a Peanuts special. I disputed it but I might have to edit that part out for it to be seen. CZcams is a nightmare these days with copyright. :/
@@80sCommercialVault -thats really unfortunate and bizarre because ive seen peanuts specials with end credits and there have been no problem to this point-wondering why this one is special that it needs to be singled out..oh well, whenever it can be back up on CZcams or made available elsewhere,im happy with.
I would also like to take the point to make that your efforts in bringing us nostalgia based goodness are appreciated once again(despite what the idiots at CZcams may think) and I hope to you continue the good work man.
I don't blame youtube persay but I've had a lot of trouble in the last few months. The company claiming Vol. 401 is "WildBrain" which is an online animation streaming service. I'm guessing the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special is something that's on their service, but not something that they actually own or have the right to administer as a copyright claimant. CZcams is full of this stuff. They're usually easily disputed.
Vol. 401 is now back up: czcams.com/video/_PgOwZdttP0/video.html
damn tj max been around forever
"drink a bowl of fruit", yeah..
Ahhh... Hemorrhoids.
Pryor's Place-cant believe Richard admitted to being high while making that show
Did that news anchor say"The BONG that blew Miami" in that bumper? LOL
Looking For Mr Goodbar-good movie, very disturbing ending
+TTrigg I'm sure Richard Pryor was high for much of the 80's, but I'm not sure why you have to bring that up *every* time I post a promo for this show.
He's clearly saying the word "bomb". The news story is in reference to the University of Miami losing to Boston College that day after Doug Flutie famously threw a 64 yard "Hail Mary" pass to win the game.

Oh..figured maybe someone had called in a bomb threat or something
as for Richard he had mentioned doing that show after the "freebase" incident
+TTrigg His "freebase incident" was in 1980. "Pyror's Place" aired four years after that.
I honestly can't find any references online that support your claim about him being high when he made the show. Even this long, candid article about his fall from fame doesn't mention it:

He may have been joking about it..who knows ¯\(ツ)/¯
00:13- window clearly up. - 00:15 reaches through window - just sayin
Yeah, the woman does look familiar in the Domino's commercial. I can't place a name, though. Also, to me, the sheriff in the Campbell's commercial looks familiar but I wish there a better view of him with the camera in front of him. I can picture who he looks like but the name fails me plus the voice is in character.
+Johnny Yuma The guy in the Campbell's commercial I think was mainly a commercial actor. I remember him playing the old boss from a 1990 United Airlines ad that travels to meet with "that old friend that fired us this morning." Here's my attempt at a link: czcams.com/video/mU2rpcAABb/video.html
+80sEric Well of course that didn't work. I'm better at 80's nostalgia than modern tech. If you search: United Airlines 1990 speech, you'll find it.
