  • Bogner Uberschall Distortion Pedal
Watch Matt demo this face melting distortion pedal by Bogner. The Uberschall is dubbed Armageddon in a Box, the ferocious Uberschall pedal derives its thunderous hi-gain tones from the notoriously brutal Bogner Uberschall amplifier. While the Uberschall pedal offers a significant range of classic lower and medium gains, its true nature comes forth when delivering savage, face-melting, high-gain aggression and don't say we didn't warn you! Reinhold designed the Uberschall pedal with five discrete Class A gain stages and with diode clipping, mirroring circuitry of the Uberschall amplifier's high-gain channel. This revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and note separation never before achieved in distortion pedals.

Funny thing is, it is a rather medium gain pedal that excels at low gain OD.

This pedal or the ecstasy red. But I can't really which one based on online sources, cause both pedals sound great. I want to be able to get a heavy saturation and everyone including Bogner say the Uberschall is the highest gain. However, from the sources I've heard I think the Red pedal has just as much gain AND it's got cooler and better added tweaker controls to alter the tones.
The Uber uses a diode for some of it's tone, the Red doesn't and the red sounds a bit more like an amps gain.

Slaughter of the Soul! Fucking awesome.
You didn't play the natural harmonic sounding bit in High Speed Dirt, though :(

That's coming through an ac15 1x12 hand wired! Really?
Any post production in the box dinner to the sound?
I'm just too impressed with the sound that doesn't make sense..

I do think there a bit of hype to the Uberschall pedal though.
It's a great sounding pedal with awesome articulation just like the blue and red ones, that's what separates these pedals from other distortion and high gain pedals.
You can really hear the notes in chords even with very high gain.
But, the Uber doesn't melt faces. It gets to cool metal levels with real tone, but it's not ultra high gain like say early 90's Smashing Pumpkins.
Maybe with gain pedal in front, but then even more pedals

It's not based on the pre amp actually. It's supposed to be similar sounding but is nothing like the uberschall preamp

not to over analyze, but the uberschall pedal's boost switch doesn't actually increase gain, simply clean volume

I really like Bogner products but this demonstration sucks.
It could have a demonstration of truth showing in fact the armageddon in box beyond the comparative of the amp vs pedal

You are too busy playing your casio. You probably barely play guitar and have no idea how to tweak it.
