    Thanks for reviewing Lenstec Clearview 3. Now I’ve a clearer picture of the cons.

    I noticed that this lens is only suitable for people with minimal astigmatism, what would you consider to be the maximum level of astigmatism to be considered to be suitable for this lens?

  • @Rita50
    @Rita50 Před 5 měsíci

    Oh well, I got astigmatism. Not sure which lens is best for me. Cannot make a decision. Don’t want to experience low contrast and a lot of halos, poor vision in the dark, also worried the iPhone screen will glow at night. And also I heard that the lenses don’t protect for UV light and give a slight bluish colouring, not sure what they actually mean by cold colouring.

    What would be the pros and cons of this lens versus the LAL (light adjustable lens) including pricing differences. Thanks!

    • @111msw
      @111msw Před 3 měsíci

      I’ve seen prices for LALs at an extra $2K per eye compared to other IOLs probably because of the extra follow up visits for adjustments.

    How does the intermediate vision of the ClearView compare to the intermediate vision of a "normal" trifocal lens?

    • @DoctorKrad
      @DoctorKrad  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It is comparable. Achieving 20/20 intermediate distance vision is common, but not universal

      @@DoctorKrad Thank you for your reply, is this because there is no "dedicated" intermediate lens but this part being sort of a mixture of the edge parts of the near and far distance lenses?

    Dr Krad . My doctor recommended Clearview 3 for my cataract surgery. But I'm the type person that halos, glare, any abnormality will drive me crazy. I need glasses now for both near and far vision. Can you give me a comparison of the Clearview to the 'basic' mono lens?

    Thanks for the video but how is one's vision in the mid range (eg. A computer monitor beyond arms' length).. they aren't as good for that as trifocals?

    • @DoctorKrad
      @DoctorKrad  Před 2 měsíci

      From what I've seen it is very similar. I had one patient recently who didn't like his intermediate range vision after his first Clearview 3 implant. After implanting his second Clearview 3 with the same refractive target of Plano, he said that far, intermediate, and near were all good. I'm sure it varies from patient to patient

    • @DoctorKrad
      @DoctorKrad  Před 3 měsíci

      Most likely yes, but we would need to measure the curvature of your cornea and the length of your eyeball to make sure the lens is manufactured in the strength you need.

    How does the starburst / halo from the Clearview compare to other multi-focals, like the Symphany, Synergy, or Panoptic?

    • @DoctorKrad
      @DoctorKrad  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Complaints of dysphotopsias such as halos/starbursts with Clearview are overall significantly less than lenses such as Symfony/Synergy/Panoptix

    • @N4Racing
      @N4Racing Před 8 měsíci

      Thank you Doctor! I have been a monovision guy for a long time and my distance eye is getting the cataract removed and I'm trying to determine my best option. I don't know yet what my doctor even offers. An odd thing is that I have astigmatism in that eye as well, but I don't correct for it with the contact, so that is another discussion I have to have. Until learning about the Clearview the Panoptix seemed the best choice, offset for less near vision clarity. @@DoctorKrad

      @@N4Racing Best of luck to you! FYI, in Q1 of 2024, the LAL Plus (LAL+) is coming out. It will have about a line and a half better reading vision than the current LAL. If you've tolerated some mono-vision in the past, definitely check out that lens before having surgery :)

      Clearview will usually give better near vision than both Symfony or Vivity. Clearview is a very new lens, However I think the far vision is slightly better with Symfony and Vivity in most people. Clearview also doesn't correct astigmatism while both Vivity and Symfony can.
