thank you for the video, but after having succeeded in repairing my tape measure, the cover no longer holds, it comes off every time, what should I do?

You're welcome Gigi.
You can carefully apply glue to hold both covers together, but there's a risk of glue seeping into the cover and bonding the tape to the cover.
However, a safer approach is to bind the covers together with a masking tape or your preferred tape.
