The trimming and edging transforms this deck. It looks wonderful. I have this deck in my shopping cart for my next purchase. I think it’s unique and will be a treasured deck. Thanks for your tutorial. Much appreciated. 😃❤️❤️
I bought this deck and find it so hard to shuffle ! I was afraid of trimming it but it looks so much better trimmed. Love the little tool that makes the corners round. Thank-you for sharing.
Love your mods on this deck. I prefer this deck without the borders. It would be too big for me with the borders.
This great! Can’t wait to do mine. I always have a “color key” with all the colors scribbled and labeled so I can hold it to the cards and I know exactly what color I’m getting. Just a quick tip!
So many decks would be off my radar entirely if not for seeing them transformed this way. I love how these cards turned out!
They are looking lovely.... thinking of buying this deck and after seeing it all trimmed can’t resist anymore. Thanks for sharing.
YAY! I think you'll love it, especially trimmed!! It's my favourite 'modern' deck.
This was so helpful and fun to watch. Thanks Lisa. I’ve yet to modify a deck. But I’m working up to it. Feeling more confident after watching this ❤️
Modifying a few decks might be a fun way to dig deeper into your collection for 2019! I started with a deck I was 'less' worried about wrecking for my first mod and after that tackled one of my faves. From then on I've been pretty confident about my mods!!! :D
Supportive Tarot great idea! I have one that’s already been trimmed a bit, that I’d like to do even more. So maybe that would be a less stressful way in 😄
I like it! Thankful you shared ♌️🌹
THANK YOU! I have my deck and I love it but they are super heavy and way me out! So glad I found your helpful tutorial and mod vid!! You did great!!!!!!
I've never trimmed or edged a deck. A group I'm with are working with this deck for July. The artwork is amazing. The cards are really big though.theyre even bigger than any oracle decks I have. Now watching your video I am leaning towards trimming. I think it really enhances the beautiful artwork.
Great Job! 👍
Nice work Lisa! They look really grounded, a welcome touch.
Wow how awesome, lovely crafting your decks 🍃🔮
I really love playing with my decks... trimming... edging.... Love!
Very nice 😍 Trying to trim and edge my Druid Craft and a little scare I mess up. Using scissors
It's so scary the first time! Definitely a good idea to practice on an easily replaced deck (Druidcraft can be still purchased via Amazon, etc) Let us know how it turns out!
@@Lisa_Papez I'll post on the Hermits Cave.
Oh yes. I modified that deck twice! I bought a used copy and removed everything but the bottom, where the name of the cards is. Then I thought what the heck ...and I bought another deck and trimmed off all the borders, so only the pictures remain. Because the pictures are so distinctive, I have no trouble using the deck without the prompts. And it is SO much easier to handle! Go for it.
Omg Lisa, Im all about that owl bag! The mods look great on that deck. I haven't been brave enough to try trimming my decks even tho I have some I'd like to do. I was recommended distress ink for edging, so I tried it on my zombie tarot and it was a mess. Horrible stuff that never dries. Idk how you would use it on actual photographs as its intended since it would destroy them. Luckily that deck is a post apocalyptic style so it has a sort of cool aesthetic even tho I kinda hate the ink all over it still. I guess I will try to find some markers like that. I just wanted something that was acid free so that it wouldn't degrade the decks over time. I didn't catch if those markers were acid free or not? Thanks for sharing this with us! Much love
I love that owl bag! :D I think Wifey may have another one of those up in her shop too but I could be mistaken. :D I've never tried distress ink and I do have to say that I will likely never use an inkpad to edge again. The results were pretty good but it was much fussier than I wanted and took FOREVER to dry. :D The Copic-style (alcohol-based) markers I use work SO well and dry so fast. Also I've since edged a deck in gold with a 'fast drying paint marker' I found at a craft store. Results of that were gorgeous too! I'm actually NOT sure if the brand of markers I"ve been using are acid-free? But I bet if you look for acid-free, alcohol-based markers, you'll be able to find some no prob! (mine might be, but I've long since ditched the packaging)
Hey Lisa! Would you mind sharing the brand/type of marker you are using?
In this video, I'm using a generic/copycat of alcohol-based copic markers :) Any chisel tipped alcohol-based art marker would work similarly!
They look so much better trimmed 😍 about how long did the whole process take? I haven't trimmed before but after seeing the difference I'm gonna make time and go for it ~ fingers crossed lol
Thanks for sharing Lisa 💜
I would say that I spent about 90 minutes or so from start to finish if I remember correctly. :) I really do find the process fairly meditative and also find that it really helps me to bond with the deck. They look SO much better trimmed!!!
I’ve just bought this deck. What is your corner cutting tool called please? Name and make? I’d like to get one. Thankyou 🙏🌈
The one I'm currently using is this one (it has three sizes, small med and large so you can pick your size): amzn.to/3MvGmZX
@@Lisa_Papez Thankyou so much 🙏🤗💗
Guess what I’m trimming today! 🤗
OoOoO!!!!!! YAY!!!!
Hi Lisa! I am new to your channel. I really enjoy it.
Thank you! I use alcohol based markers that are sort of a cheaper version of a "Copic" marker. They dry quickly and I don't ever have ink transfer (with the one exception being when I edged over top of some existing edging that may have been water based... ooops!). 😀
Crayola markers work wonders! I've used them for my decks and they came out great. I will share one of my videos soon.
