In this video I will conclude my build of my Messerschmitt BF109! Hope you enjoy! P.S. Sorry about the late upload... took a bit long due to the paint not sticking on the tail...
This is probably the best paint job on a 1/72 bf 109 or FW 190 that I've seen that wasn't done with an airbrush, great job, I'm going to try to get back into the hobby after more than 30 years, this is inspiring.
Im 60 years old..I built my first airplane model when I was 11..it was the Revell P-51B "Shangri-La" Mustang flown by Captain Dominic Gentile 1/32 scale...Plastic modelling has been the greatest friend for me all my life...Is good to see young people picking up this hobby, because it contains very useful life skills...your Me looks very nice from Phoenix, Arizona...cheers!
Mr. Spoon Good question, that sponge came with a cheap art supplies set that I got from a pound shop ages ago. It is also modified so that it has a sharper point (done that with a pair of scissors) It's basically a art sponge dabber thing ;) try looking in your local art shop or ask in a local hobbycraft if there is one near you. Good luck with the painting! -Modelling Weekly
Other than the landing gear angle a very nice build. I do prefer narration over background music as you can add a lot of insight into the build. I'm looking forward to your next build!
Hi I'm a beginner and have just painted the wings of this model, I painted the entire wing with three thinned coats of 246 then masked up to paint the darker colour. After applying three thin coats of 245, I removed the tape and the paint had this thick line of paint where the masking tape had been, how do I avoid this?
It's a tricky one, as this is essentially caused by paint building up along the edges of the tape due to capillary action. The only thing you can do to remedy this is to take the masking tape of whilst the paint is still wet. Good luck my friend.
Not a problem fella . Your hands look very young I am guessing 13 -14 yrs old. Wish I could build models like that back then. Just picked up a Cromwell airfixmodels tank and a f86a sabre be first model I done in 8 years. Can't wait and fuck it I'll sub too.
Lo unico que quiero aclarar es que las ruedas, el tren de aterrisaje está muy cerado el Bf 109 lo tiene más habierto, más para los costados y no tan derechos. Sacando eso, de 10 la maqueta.
I could have a dig through the decal box if you would like! I don't mind giving them to you for free, though if you live in another country then I would want the cost of postage if that's ok 😄
@@josefalfarokreiner4549 ok, I'll have a look now!! If I find them, feel free to send me your postage details via contact@modellingweekly.co.uk to keep it more private :) I'll let you know if I find them here though.
@@josefalfarokreiner4549 ok, I found them! Yeah, so as I said feel free to send your details via the email mentioned before and we'll take it from there 😊
Looks really nice great job. However the landing gear is supposed to have an angle and not straight down from the wing. Have a look on google and you'll see what I mean. Keep 'em coming :)
Cool vid and i started modelling when i was your age too(i turned 13 in october so not a lot of difference)lol and i think you paint amazingly if you have instagram that you post models follow me at scalemodelinginturkey (its my account)have a good day!

Yeah I agree, he's done an excellent job hand brushing this kit, very inspiring for those of us who do not have an air brush.

Excellent neat modelling technique and hand brushing method. Well done a great looking Bf109.

Awesome. Lovely build of the Bf-109. Nicely done mottling camo too. Makes me wana build one.
Thanks, the mottling camo as you saw was done with a sponge, I think it made a nice affect in the end.
Modelling Weekly It sure did. Now I need to buy a Bf-109. Watch my videos too
Ok, I'll leave a sub aswel :)
Hey not bad i like the idea with the sponge thanks for sharing,
Juan sanchez Thanks! :)
Very cool!
3:00 what type of sponge is that? i am 95% done with my 109 paint job and am not sure how to do the darker grey camo scheme on the side

Thanks man! I did want to make a narration but that meant I needed to buy a new microphone :/ anyway I will think about purchasing one!

Really cool dad... Maybe you could get him to build one with you for your channel. Get him involved I am sure he buy you more kits ;)
Yeah great idea! I'll probably build a spitfire with him or something like that
