- What a little car! I've truly loved every second of driving this car. It's a pocket rocket, but it needs some tweaking to make it perfect.

Had my car for 9 months now. The most fun car I've ever owned. Great as stock but to me this car is a blank slate. For instance, the bushings and top mounts. They're just standard normal Toyota bits. You just know they meant for you to upgrade it - and as you said, to be upgraded to your needs and preferences. There's plenty of things big and small that you can tinker with. Forget practicality. This car existed for competition - a true homologation special - and the compromises to practicality are because its competition first, road car second. That makes it special in my book.
I recently purchased a new '23 GR Yaris Circuit Pack, and it's the most enjoyable car I've driven to date. My previous experiences include owning an E36 M3, an E46 M3, and an F87 M2C. The GR Yaris offers a driving experience reminiscent of the E36 M3, but with the quickness of the E46 M3. It feels extremely lightweight, and, truth be told, I don't miss any of my old ///M cars. The GR Yaris excels in every aspect. However, I adore it in its stock form and have no plans to modify it. It's perfect just the way it is for my taste.
I agree the Circuit packs are beautiful 🤩
i switched from Gr yaris to N55 M2 7speed dct. M2 is incredibly well balanced car.
@@alwjmonster My M2C felt incredibly numb. Especially the steering. No analog feel whatsoever. Extremely disconnected and heavy-feeling (because it is).
How does it compare to the F87 m2c?
@@christmasisawesome9348 The GR Yaris really beats the f87 M2C when it comes to being agile and fun to drive. It's way nimbler. The M2C, on the other hand, feels pretty heavy, kind of like driving a tank. The GRY's got better steering that's quick to respond, and the gear shifts are short and feel more hands-on. It's almost as fast and powerful as the M2C, which is pretty cool for its size. Plus, you can switch up how it drives - it can borderline act like a RWD or use its AWD, depending on what you need.
Sure, the M2C's got a fancier inside and you can see out of it better, but that stuff doesn't matter as much if you're all about the driving. The GRY is made for drivers: the seat feels just right, the steering wheel is the perfect size, and the pedals are spaced out well. It's a blast to drive. The M2C is too polished for me; it loses some of that raw driving feel, which is super important if you love being really connected to your car when you're driving.
Love these little things.
Nah i disagree on the suspension argument. But thats subjective. Making it lower kinda defeats the purpose.
Yeah I lowered mine and looks good but definenlty not as fun driving around as it Is stock I miss having that fun
Stretched Triangle tyres....tells you lots. The car deserves better.
Agreed 😅
I switched from the Bowdens to NV for the wheel cleaner, I’ve found that it works far better in removing all of that brake dust.
I enjoyed your review, my Rallye still leaves me grinning like an idiot. Keep the videos coming.
cool video mate
Fantastic car and inspirational mods for mine too. BTW have you noticed you’re missing one wheel lug on the front right?
Yep! 😅 fixed that yesterday
I haven't noticed the don't modify it crowd lol Go nuts!
I m one of those😂, coming from running a mod business, this is a car straight out from factory that I can keep it as it is.
Hey mate
You mentioned your running
18x9.5 38 front
18x9.5 22 rear
What tyres you running front and rear on the 57DR’s
Any rubbing at all?
need 2 bucket wash method. lol... I have the GR Yaris Rallye in Brisbane. It is my 3rd Rallye. Sold the last 2 when resales were good. Bought the 3rd one and I think I will keep stock and hold onto. Modified the last 2, keeping this one stock. I am getting old to modify cars these days, past my STI and EVO days.
What suspension and wheel size do you run?
44000 miles in mine, amazing machine.
Hey mate, I recently purchased a Lamspeed exhaust same as yours. Heard a few people telling me to change the rubber hangers or ill end up with a melted diffuser. Have you had that issue?
Nope. No signs of that so far 😂 👏
holy shit its so much better this low and with the rays (and the stock one already is a good looking car)
what sparco wheels are they ?
Nearly hitting a kangeroo during a car review is probably the most Australian thing Ive seen lol. Had mine since 2021 new and still love it, its my daily and apart from ppf and mud flaps its stock. People who say dont mod it just ignore them (as you do), its your car do as you wish. Some days I do wish it was a little louder, but I do also like the stealthy aspect, most people I suspect dont know what it is, and that suits me fine. Would like to hear your thoughts on the new GR Yaris coming later this year. Tempted? Auto or manual? That grey is lovely and I like the new interior but it seems to be a love or hate thing :)
😂🇦🇺 with regards to the new GR Yaris, I’ll be photographing them as soon as my dealerships get them. So I’ll get a good chance to see a few up close. I’ve always loved that it’s manual, gotta say that 8 speed auto seems very tempting! As for the interior I get mk4 supra vibes and I reckon the driver focused interior is always a good idea
i like the aussie made car cleaners
Very interesting how different GR owners priorities different aspects of the car
Like my suspension is stock with the bbs's
But full exhaust catless, intake , dv,intake manifold, on a stock tune
I thought the drive train was cool but being 40 now with a child nearly a teenager now the 2 door thing was never going to work for me then Toyota decided to give Australia the same drive train in a corolla I was sold having 2 other corollas already (1 4age turbo converted 94 model, 1 original 1969 KE11 yes that's right the 1.2l 2 speed auto what a rocket) it being a corolla was the only way to get approval from the CFO (wife) all in all unreal drive train unbelievable around corners with the F&R torson LSD's and I'm yet to mod it I'll probably wait until the warranty is up
Living in mx i don't understand how you can wash your car in the sunlight, even if its the later afternoon
It was 8am here when I washed it. 😅 sun comes up so early during summer so it looks like mid day.
If you had a DI resin filter you could wash it in the sun. It then dries perfectly with no water spots.
Yeah, i just imagine everyone does but still some chemicales in the sun can be a pain to remove if they dry@@GRfourfun
No, no, no! Cheap rubber made to fit wheels that are too wide for the tire, washing in bright sunshine ....... I couldn't wash mine like that.
Don't cheap out on rubber !!!!!
The tyres came on the wheels… don’t shoot me 😂 I’ll change them soon
gr yaris very cheap in oz compared to european cars
It's ILLEGAL for the wheels to stick OUTSIDE the fenders - Sorry! (but the chance the police will stop you for this issue is minimal - but if you are in a pedestrian accident you'll most likely have a problem...)
They look fine to me.
