    Overdrive has presented a completely biased review on this one and that's lame! You got a few things wrong about the Leoncino as well - it has inline twin engine (not parallel twin) and sports 160mm ground clearance (not 145mm). Looks are not subjective here; Leoncino offers sophisticated modern elements with touches of classic design whereas the Interceptor is themed on the 80's classic scene. Both the bikes are good on their own category. Although the Leoncino falls on the slightly pricier side, it also offers more than the Interceptor. Moreover it is still a piece of Italian designing & engineering which cannot be overlooked (even if it is now owned by the Chinese company QJ)!

    • @prodiG98
      @prodiG98 Před 4 lety +16

      What he said about the engine being parallel is actually correct.
      What you are referring to is the firing order of the piston, and the configuration of the crank shaft. Leoncino has both piston fired at the same time with the 360 degrees crank shaft configuration, hence the engine note.
      Nevertheless, yes, this video seems to be bias, especially when comparing the looks between the two bikes; I prefer Leoncino anytime.
      And, bad pricing?
      Where I live, Leoncino is way cheaper than the Interceptor.

      @ashem_ry Před 4 lety +2

      @@prodiG98 Thanks for that! Good to know. I'm assuming you live in Europe which must be the reason for it costing less than Interceptor? It is exported from India. Benelli is bringing CKD kits to India from it's manufacturing plant in China which must be the reason for it's higher costs in India.

    • @prodiG98
      @prodiG98 Před 4 lety +13

      @@ashem_ry I'm actually from Malaysia. The Leoncino is priced at MYR 29,000 or less, depending on the distributor. While the Interceptor is priced at MYR 45,900 and the Continental GT is at 48,500. That's MYR 15,000 in price difference, not to mention that the spare parts and service centers are hard to find and cost triple than the Leoncino (Benelli Malaysia prepared a PDF of every parts of the Leoncino, in detail, with price)
      To put into perspective how big is MYR 15,000 (USD 3577), or simply put, what can be bought with that amount of money:
      - used Kawasaki ER6F 2012 - 2013
      - 4 Apple iPhone X

    Checked prices in Australia. The RE is $9790 and the Benelli is $8990. $800 more for the RE but you do get an extra year of warranty. A lot have opted for the RE but Benelli as a brand has strong rising support. I don’t think Benelli can compete with the Japanese brands at this time but I see them as being more interesting to watch at the moment. As mentioned below, the cruise just released is more interesting as far as performance is concerned. RE seems to have a lot of dead wood to it’s name.

It's simple.. uncomplicated..and begging to customize the heck out of it... and yeah if I were willing to drop 15 lakh I'd go for a harley... but will I be able to use it as much unless I make a special plan to ride and what about the heat. It's a brilliant product from RE. For anyone just getting into serious biking I'd recommend the 650 as a stepping stone either into the cruiser or sports bike direction. Why not wait until Benelli introduce their 752 Due street bike and then compare it with the Royal Enfield, the Due will blow the Interceptor into the weeds. Royal Enfield should have made their twin engine a 750, not a 650, the 650 only produces around 48 hp, that's simply not enough for today's power hungry motorcyclists. I'm looking forward to a decent road test of the 2020 Royal Enfield 838cc V-twin Cruiser, it certainly looks impressive.

    So much bias. Since you have significantly favoured the RE, do allow me to point out what you missed. Interceptor handling is good compared to what? It might be good as a royal enfield, but so many motorcycles in that price bracket handle significantly better. You have dwelled quite a bit on the looks. For example,
    Odd fuel tank on leo? I feel it looks quite Italian, unique and gorgeous.. Not to mention offering better grab points for your thigh and knees.
    Rear end on int 650 is extremely gorgeous? It's just simple. The leo has a significantly better tail. In fact, that tail section is what I would call extremely gorgeous. See? It's all perspective and you shouldn't score the looks as they are subjective.
    Lot more appealing? I have never given a second look to an int 650 or gt650. The leo would definitely grab my attention or anyone else's attention better.
    The most important part when it comes to tyres is tubes vs tubeless. Go on a long ride, get a puncture in the middle of nowhere and then you'll understand why so many manufacturers have started giving tubeless spoked rims. It's worth the extra money.
    Both are eager to reach 150 kph, true. But you Failed to mention the bad wobble on the 650 twins at any speed above 150 when you hit the slightest of undulations. It wobbled on MMRT when Rajini was giving it the beans.
    How can you say INT650 is better for riding enthusiastically when the leo responds and handles better on the twisties carrying more corner speeds as per your own description later in the same video? Confused or misleading?
    And finally, truly reliable? What? The interceptor has been giving trouble to their owners in true RE style. ECU failure at high altitudes. Magnetic tank bag causing weird ECU response. Significant rust issues. Paint on the inside of the tank peeling off. Very odd placement of footpegs that hits your shin when you manoeuvre the bike in slow moving traffic.And these problems are not the occasional gremlins. Many customers have that problem.. The benelli will have problems and it'll surface over time which I'll gladly point out. The RE already has them. Please point out that this is why you are getting the RE for this much money.
