  • The Stuka Junkers JU-87 is one of the most recognizable German aircraft of World War Two. We visit one of the last remaining examples of this aircraft at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon, London. My film features one of the last remaining Stukas and a tour around the aircraft on static display, with facts and information about the plane.
This precision light dive-bomber dropped the first bombs of the war and wrought havoc with shipping and enemy targets. It became a psychological weapon of war with the addition of its distinctive sirens. It was tested during the Spanish Civil War and was a key weapon in the German’s Blitzkrieg campaigns. The Stuka suffered heavy losses when the Germans did not have air superiority due to it’s lack of speed, but it did play a role throughout the entire length of the war.
