Gunnar has to have some of the greatest stories ever!!! I mean, blow by statements
like "Mamma Cass babysat us" and "George Harrison ate breakfast with us". Then all the stuff about the Flynn house that I'm sure he could dive deeper much deeper into. I mean WOW!!!
Have these guys considered writing an autobiography? From the few things Gunnar said, hinted to and made a quick comment about, i can see a 60 hour long audio book. I'd be glued to that!

Have you worked in the industry? I have. Veteran of the industry...both performing and the biz, music and tv. I have incurred far more injustice and abuse in so-called normal jobs than in entertainment. The main thing with regard to as you put it underbellies" in any business is knowing your rights, how well you negotiate, and your luck re who your bosses are. That goes for all types of businesses. Sometimes you are lucky as to who your bosses and sometimes not.

    • @sparkytuttle2966

@@IMeMineWho , I agree 100% with you regarding know your bosses. I was referring to the evil things that some entertainers are subjected to, in order to rise to out of this world fame. I had wrestled with the me, too movement for various reasons, mostly because it was hard to understand the enormity of this. But even that's not really what I was referring to, when I said, " What sick bastards these star makers were." I was going much deeper. I just was trying not to be graphic. I believe that every contract should be looked at by an attorney. I say that now, not because of the Crowder v Daily Wire garbage going on now. I find Crowder to be a snake using the lack of knowledge most of his listeners have regarding contracts. If anything good comes from his charade it might be that people will not sign anything without a lawyer. But back to your comment, I agree that there is underhanded bosses everywhere. The entertainment community has a conundrum in that most entertainers just want to do what they love, many are living and breathing their art. Whereas applying to a corporation, is just not the same. That leaves our artist a bit more vulnerable. It's a tough world and if you are careful it will destroy you. I wish you nothing but the best and I hope you live the life of your dreams. 👏

We'd sneak through an opening in the fence with booze and what have you, and hang around the pool area. One night, some friends and I brought candles and decided to do a half-assed seance. Wow! What an amazing interview Jordan. I was captivated by Gunnar's extremely articulate and vivid recollections and the way he generously shared the historical aspects of his hugely talented family's life. All of us grew up with the Nelson Family--whether it was with bandleader Ozzie Nelson's music, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, Ricky Nelson, Rick Nelson and the Stone Canyon Band, or The Nelson Brothers. The Nelson family have been and continue to be part of the fabric of many of our lives.
Both Gunnar and Matthew are an amazing testament to their father's huge legacy yet stand on their own incredible merits and talents. I had the opportunity to meet both brothers when I was a music publicist in Hollywood. It was so refreshing to meet two immensely grounded and genuinely real individuals. Their tribute to their father is stellar and a must see for any fan of Ricky, The Nelsons, or great music for that matter. They commit 110% to each performance, as you can see from their preparation, which you magically captured in your vlog Jordan.

Thank you for this interview. I did not know Rick was millions in debt when he died. These young men are a testament to their family legacy, treat people right, be humble & kind.
They are just as their Dad was, a humble man who did not let fame go to his head. I believe the silver lining to living with a troubled mother opened their eyes to not indulge in the same things. Gunner is warm & down to earth and though he explained things were wrong didn’t disrespect his parents. A fine human

Gunnar is not speaking of Hollywood as a business when he speaks of the seaminess of Hollywood. There is Hollywood the physical place and then there is Hollywood that ppl who do not live in California imagine (the entertainment business). Gunnar when he speaks of being an empath and sensing ppl's desperation is speaking of Hollywood the place as the physical location brings many ppl who do not research either the business, nor do they have a backup plan when they come to Hollywood to attempt to realize their dreams which then become broken and then may become homeless or addicted due to lack of prep work and research. I have worked performing and in the biz and heard many Midwesterners and Southerners who dreamt of being musicians or actors and came here without a dime and no contacts or training who nonetheless came to California hoping to make it and convinced because they were handsome or pretty and thus would attain stardom in a year. These are the ppl who become addicted or homeless.

Rick telling his sons to take a commercial air flight is similar to Jayne Mansfield stopping the car and putting her children in the back seat before her accident. Lovely, lovely vlog on Matt and Gun Nelson. I've been around them a lot over the years. They are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They also love their fans as much as the fans love them. I've seen them stay hours after a show to meet all the fans that have waited in line to meet them. They don't feel like rock stars when you meet them. They feel like a friend. They used to call their fans their "extended family." I've heard lots of stories about the house and what went on there. To me it's sad the house is gone but it's also a good thing its's gone. Hopefully the evil spirits have been put to rest. They are in the Guinness book of records as 3 consecutive generations of number 1 hit makers. I'm sure their dad is looking down from heaven and is proud of the men they have come to be.
