Thanks for this Josh! I'm gonna try HRD even though my satpc32 works (when it wants to) I emailed amsat and they had me email the program writer Erich and he basically said he can't change all the error messages to English. So HRD here I come!

Hi Josh. I have an original Mk1a I assembled from scratch. The "bobbling" of the antenna on mine was caused because the degree limits in the app were set too tight. IE if you say to hold within half a degree, the physical limits of the rotor assembly cause it to "thrash". Set it to within 1 degree and it will stabilize and stop bouncing.

I wish the rotator was still available.

Just wondering. The Yagi antennas give 10db gain?. I've heard you can work the ISS with 8W.
So would an omnidirectional egg beater type antenna high up with 10db more transmitter power work just as well? Maybe with an lna for receive?
So no mucking about with rotors.

It's entirely possible to work the ISS with a stock baofeng since it has a stable orbit, a yagi makes it easier by providing directionality

Love the idea of a tracker, but I don’t really see a practical application for satellite ham radio other than to say you did.

"...since the MS-DOS days." at 45:15 makes me think. Having been there, done that. Did you mean the MS-DOG days? ;)
