Uberti 1860 Army Revolver Made in 2023 YouTube Acceptable Video

  • In this video I’ll be checking out a newly manufactured Uberti 1860 Army revolver.
I’ll be comparing this gun that was built in 2023 to the same model made 25 years earlier in 1998 to see if Uberti’s quality has changed in 25 years.
Then will take it out to the range.
I made some modifications that allowed paper cartridges to be easily loaded in the Uberti 1860 revolver. I also made some other modifications that improved the function and reliability of this gun.
Unfortunately, CZcams considers gun modifications to be evil, and I don’t want the video taken down.
So, if you want to see these mods, you can watch the full version of this video on Rumble.

Good Morning Mr. Mike. I did not stick around on CZcams because I wanted to know all of what you did to this 1860, so I shuffled off to Rumble. It's a sad time for America to be forced to flee to safe havens because of a minority of people who are attempting to remove the rights of others. Rights that are clearly spelled out in our Constitution. 👍Thumbs up to you Mr. Mike for trying.

You must understand, the leading Bolsheviks who took over Russia were not Russians. They hated Russians. They hated Christians. Driven by ethnic hatred they tortured and slaughtered millions of Russians without a shred of human remorse. It cannot be overstated. Bolshevism committed the greatest human slaughter of all time. The fact that most of the world is ignorant and uncaring about this enormous crime is proof that the global media is in the hands of the perpetrators."

Here in Italy there are not a lot of BP shooters, sadly. Most of the production goes to the US and often the guns sold here have US marks as well because when you order One Uberti Just pick One ready for the US and sell It on the italian market. Not a big deal, i like those marks. I'm allways amazed by the quality of those guns, they are quite cheap for our market, but they are made with passion and up in Gardone they are proud of theyr works, another advantage Is if you Need a replacement or anything you can give them a call and they Will gladly solve the problem. Uberti and pedersoli are in a race between who can provide the best customer service, at least seems to me :)

I don't know what we'd do without the Italians. So few companies in the US are willing to make affordable reproductions of the guns that defined our heritage, and our nation. And Italians practically make all of them. Uberti, Peitta, Chiappa, Pedersoli. I salute them all.

The 1860 is the sleekest looking of all the C&B revolvers and has the most comfortable grip. I was given an old ASM 1860 Colt (imported by CVA) parts gun. It needed replacement internals that aren't available anymore, but I wanted it for the gripframe anyway.
I know it's not historically accurate at all, but I had a short barreled Pietta brass frame 1851 Colt .44 in the safe. After a lot of fitting, I made the steel 1860 gripframe fit on my 1851. So now my historically inaccurate 1851 is even more historically inaccurate, but it sure feels good in my hand!
Keep up the great videos, and as always, good luck with the legal fight.

Greetings sir, I've been shooting traditional muzzleloaders for 25 years and 2 years ago I found a Uberti 1860 army and from watching your videos I began the journey of cap and ball revolvers alas to my dismay I have not been able find any #10 caps and again your videos gave me the option of slixshot cones, I found them and placed my order and received them just today and installed them, took my accoutrements to the range and was finally able to shoot my revolver with #11 caps (that I have several of) and realize the joy of cap and ball revolver shooting, thank you for your many instructional videos and insightful information.

Oh No Mike! I have a 1995 Pietta 1860 Army and seeing this Lovely new Army you have,,,,well I’m still working on buying a 1862 Police! Then I saw a 1851 Navy at a gun shop (my 1976 Pietta has a brass frame) with a steel frame, octagon barrel, real pretty and I almost bought it! Since I already have one and Love my Army better, well as is said, so many guns and so little time and money. Thank You So Much Mike, your sharing of your knowledge and histories is not only entertaining but super interesting as well. For myself, research and history is half the delight! As I often say as when I shoot my 1829 N. Starr, its like shooting history. I’ve always felt blessed to be able to work with my hands and make most anything I set my mind to. I know you appreciate this as well. And I believe you’ll agree that this allows us to be far more aware and appreciate our Ancestors and the abilities and energies needed to make everything needed. And as many have become very tired of censoring, going against our 1st Amendment, YT is only hurting itself! Shame on them! I had to comment on this. Kind Thanks Again Mike! One day I hope our paths will meet at some gun show or historical event and I can Thank You Personally! Many Blessings, Good Shootin and take it easy cuz ya know how ya are! I had an old .22 revolver that ALWAYS shot about a foot high like this pistol too. I fixed that by adding about a 1/8" thick copper strip over the front sight blade with some epoxy and it shot right on the money after that. I left the very back end of the copper bright and shiny for a good sight bead and covered the front up with black dye so it wouldn't stand out.

Being its has the brass backstrap, it would be cool to nickel or silver plate the brass backstrap and trigger guard. Like how most original 51 navys, Backstrap and trigger guard were silver plated . Its very easy and cheap to do at home. All you need is a DC powder Source, white Vinegar and nickel or silver. There are lots of videos on CZcams how to do it. Uberti has been doing a great job. But Pietta though, most i have seen over the last 2 years are very bad. Everything from lettering on the gun being Crooked, to extremely bad fitted grips. they started lazer engraving the cylinder scene. To me It just looks cheap. Looking forward to seeing your video on the 1860s combat effectiveness.

Funny story... 5 years ago when buying my first Remington i had a dylema wheater i should but a pietta or uberti (pietta felt much better in my hand) in the end i ended up with ubertii, and was hard broken after the first visit to the range and finding out how many technical flaws it had. Last year i bought a colt police pocket from ubertii, and i wasn't fully happy aswell... Parts don't actually fit well and parts are actually squized together do when i unscrew it all parts that don't have springs connect to them shoots out faster and further then it throws leed balls on 20 gr powder charge. This year i bought a piece from pieta (spiller and burt) and it is a master piece in comparisson... Everything fits perfectly, it lays in my hand perfectly, and the mechanism works like a switz clock... So im not entirely sure, why everyone hype Uberti so much... The only good Uberti replica that i did own was a 1873 winchester carabine...

It’s a beauty even with the brass back strap, I do like the fit and finish of Ubertis over Piettas

My Pietta has almost flawless fit and finish but I haven’t compared it to any others

I also have a couple Piettas and love them, my Ubertis are finished better, like the grips being flush with the back strap and trigger guard for example, though it’s minor cosmetics/aesthetics and has nothing to do with performance it does make for a nicer touch for the end user and presents well

Would have liked to see you try the Kado Bullet in the paper cartridges. Some of us shoot actual game with our old timers and there is no better bullet for that.

Howdy Mike! That is a nice looking pistol. I have a Pietta 1860 army and I was wondering if my Pietta can take paper rounds or do I need to modify it or not. Thank you very much.

Nice gun, I bought a Pietta 1860 new 2years ago and a Pietta 1858 but haven't done anything to help it load Paper Cart. maybe I'll try these mods as I have the same issues you describe. Where I live I can only get the Rem.#11. The RWS 1075 and 1075+ work well but I can't get them anymore.

My only problem with you birdy is the short or ber but I fix it because I do like the look of their guns got some sweet looking guns and they hide the barrel markings

Suggestion for a future video, a shoot off between an 1860 and a Remington concerning which gun will powder foul first.

Really enjoyed the 1860 video and looking forward to the combat shoot ability of 1860, when I had my Uberti 51 navy a fellow BP shooter with a 1860 always said it was supposed to take a hostile off his horse at 200 paces, we had a lot of fun trying to outshoot each other.

Greetings!! Do you upload on rumble or anything other platform? I been thinking about purchasing either a uberti or pietta for sometime and would love to watch the whole presentation.

I don't believe Little Roy is going to make it to become Big Roy Jr.
