Oil service cost £220-£250 - Major Service £350-400 WOW. That's insane, you certainly are paying for that stamp of Bmw for your service history.
If you plan on keeping the car, the money that people are paying for that stamp will much out weight the re sell value in a very short time frame.
Competent technicians in workshops are key, whether it is in a dealership or independent workshop the quality of the person working on it gives you the results.
A high % of oil changes in dealerships are done by 1-2 year apprentices as they are seen as low cost labour with great return, knowing inside the industry and having friends and associates across most manufacture brands tells me this, it remains constant with them all. A good bottom line is the most important thing.
I enjoyed the rest of the video but the emphasis on dealer to service was shocking.

+Gerard Burke fair comments, if you know people in the industry who can do the servicing for you it certainly helps.

Gerard Burke I normally take mine to Bmw for any issues but when they quoted me £200+ for an oil change I looked for a BMW specialist who is certified to stamp the book. The mechanics were all ex Bmw guys. Bmw quoted me £250 for a new front tyre… I got two brand new Bridgestones fitted for £270! Shop around…

stubones I’ve always taken my BMW’s to the dealer for servicing, but I’ve never even entertained the thought of getting tyres from them. I’ve even found the dealers cheaper in some cases (once the car is about 4 years old) for services or minor work. When I had my e36 circa 2002 to get a suspension part replaced was cheaper at the dealer than it was at the garage I visited nearby.

Excellent real review!. I just bought an m sport plus touring in white, couldn’t agree anymore this shape is spot on. The new shape has something missing in my opinion. This shape almosts looks newer than the newer model if you get what I mean. ( from the exterior)

I’d always thought of that ‘luggage retainer’ as a dog guard... I guess it does both 👍 that, and the low and flat boot sill, no spare wheel and separately opening boot window make this the absolutely perfect dog car!

Hey Dude, Loved the video. Think you have a great demeanour that comes across well on camera. Couple of bits of constructive criticism, i would definitely work towards getting a mic that works better in windy areas (I am aware that this may have been a one off). Also the camera needs better image stabilisation and really struggles with light when pulling out of the inside of the car to outside. Last point (sorry) the music level is set way too loud. usually dragging the line down of the audio in the editor a tad should sort that. Alas i don't make car review videos myself, i just saw a lot in you and think you should keep up the great work! You have massive potential

Great review! I’ve got a Volvo V70r and I’m looking to sell and get a BMW little girl on the way and I’m looking for another estate for her and the dog and the Volvo is an awesome car it’s just terrible on fuel so I need something like this! I’m sold on one! How come you haven’t made more videos you’re an easy watch 👍🏻

Looks almost identical to my 2011 car (Sport Plus Edition Touring) auto apart from the raised roof rails. Mine has them flush with the roof. Even the interior is identical, but mine has the iDrive system. It's done 115k miles and apart from one slightly annoying rattle from somewhere in the front passenger door it drives like new. Definitely don't get the oil changed by BMW. I paid £130 for the last change, plus about £30 for a new air filter, at a local BMW specialist who are certified to stamp the book, which they did.

    £200+ for a service, you're having a laugh.
I paid £30 for the Labour to change the oil and filter 😂.
