- Shotguns have been a traditional handicraft in India-controlled Kashmir for decades, but today the Zaroo Gun Factory is one of only two family-run workshops in Srinagar. Violence in the region and crackdowns on gun licenses have decimated the business, but the Zaroos are determined to keep the craft alive.

People in America: *I WILL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK*
@Umang Singh k-414 the reason we love guns is because it’s part of our culture. With muskets, cannons, and a bit of help we fought off an empire that control a third of the world at that time. Then in 1812 that same empire tried again and where fought off with a large militia and a United military working in unison. in a short time the war ended and the Americans found there ultimate strategy to fend off any empire and any nation, lots and lots of regular Joe’s with easy to maintain guns. And In the civil war both sides of the conflict decided to take their military issued rifles and revolvers back home to protect there families and themselves on the frontier. Then the importance of guns skyrocketed. Overtime the nation got bigger and better guns and we got the reputation that we were gun nuts because nearly everyone could get a gun (which I’m glad we got the reputation.) then with that reputation it added a psychological element to our defense granting us the ability for US citizens to have guns optionally (turns out sadly 3/8s of the country hates guns)and the rest of the world thinks that we’re still as well armed as we were 200 years ago. In fact the Japanese in world war 2 didn’t want to attack mainland American because a top general said that there is an American with a rifle behind every blade of grass.
I hope you have a very good day and thank you for reading. I’m trying to refine my creative writing skills and this was good practice. I also hope that you learn a good history lesson today 👍

Entire Kashmir belongs to India
This video seems to have its own agenda. Nonetheless its business insider didn't expect anything else.
The video has a hidden agenda. The gun licence is stricter throughout India not only in Kashmir. Didn’t expect such a wrong information video from INSIDER.
but... but... but... muh hindu nationalism according to western media.
Exactly they picturethe gun laws as some sort of indan oppression. Im sure ,These same people will cry out loud for gun restrictions in the US. Liberal hypocrisy.
On paper it is same throughout india, but there is lot of red tapism and wilfully delay in Kashmir brother.
Those rifles looks beautiful, handmade shotguns with history.
I just wish I could get one of those shotguns. I only want it to add it to my collection. They are beautiful to own.
To make it clear to the people who think government is discriminating against Kashmiris for gun license procurement.
Nobody in India can get gun license without doing but load of paperwork and psych evaluation. It will take you years to get a licence
Well that's sucks. Just like in Indonesia or Japan.
@@subarunatsuki4145 nah, it doesn't. We don't want people in India to go human hunting like in the US
dude but it doesnt matter. In states like UP and Bihar there is no lack of illegal gun "katta" factories. In India law is just on paper, real law depends on whether you bribe the police man or not.

Correction : It's not "Indian Controlled Kashmir" , It's Kashmir which is a Union Territory in INDIA. Make sure you correct your facts prior releasing.
Thanks
They know this. (I think)
But they gave a diplomatic answer so hopefully none of the viewer gets offended. Because if they said kashmir as a part of India (Which it is btw) then there would be a person from Pakistan who would have said the same thing.
P.S.
I am not trying to be anti-national. I am just stating the possible reason why they said "Indian Controlled Kashmir".
And I completely agree with you.
Kashmir was, is and will be in India and we will hopefully get back PoK too in the future.

I am a massive fan of anything gun related as an Australian who suffers the strict gun laws but wishes to become a gunsmith. I see this not only educational but inspiring me to keep fighting till I get what I want.
Australia is so far gone, especially with all the covid BS restrictions going on as of late. You guys were a cool country, I hope things get better for you, fight back and get what you want.
If you're so inclined, many of us here in the US would be happy to have you.
The U.S and even Canada to an extent has a booming industry, if you're ever inclined to move the U.S would be happy to have you.
Thanks to Australia's gun laws, your survival chances are too high compared to an American's.
@@oyedeepak you are extremely ignorant
You need to understand this that it's the same law governing in every region of India. So craftsmanship of gun in India is a challenge irrespective of any specific region. And if the guns craftsman thinks that the barrel might explode or so on proof-testing then how they think to sell it to people. If the craftsman are not confident on what they make, how come people will have faith.
Hundreds of guns from all brands explode in proof testing, there could be a spot of weaker alloy in the barrel, the heat treat could have been off because of an unknown contaminate that is the entire point of sending guns to testing to make sure that they don't explode in the consumer/users face.
As an American, this is sad asf. I can only imagine not having a gun...
If only things got better. I hate to see a business filled with people that share the same passion with me slowly die out like this. Hopefully things will get better when people see this video, or the gun laws get a *little* bit softer.
it would better if gun laws will get even more strict we have lots of radicals throughout the country and many hidden terrorrist in kashmir , those artisans just need some middle man who will export for them as fire arms export ban was lifted by current gov

Not India the British Raj
@EpikLemon but it also means that Bangladesh Pakistan tibet Nepal and Afghanistan also owned Kashmir
Bruh India didn't exist either, look at the map. It was literally a bunch of pieces of minor states that was conquered by world powers in turn.
What does the Narrator mean by the sentence "India controlled Kashmir" ? Kashmir is as much a part of India as "New York is a Part of USA" or "Birmingham is of UK". It's not "Shrey negaar".. it's Srinagar..
you could sell these at 500 times the price, and there would still be mile-long lines in the US
