Here is our completed ride! This was taken at sunset (except beginning edit) to capture details.

So many things I wanted to still do but did not have time for. But, there is always next year!

We really enjoyed building our tribute with a Chamber of Souls spin. It was a lot of work building this dark ride, although it was not as dark as initially planned. Again, ran out of time.

Now make a Christmas ride! Just turn your backyard into a year round holiday amusement park. If the Arlo ran into issues for next year you can try changing Wi-Fi channels or use a repeater. You could also just use an extra router that has no actual internet hook up it just needs a network to talk to the base. From there you can view the footage locally or save to an external drive.

This is AMAZING!!! As a kid, my grandpa made us an amusement park in his yard- we had a motorized ferris wheel and merry go round. This would have been awesome to him!

So very much a righteous 'labour of love' and detail in this patriotic attraction. The 'Haunted Mansion' is indelible in the culture of Americana. You have done this generational icon proud with this seriously wrenched-together project. Who cares what the neighbours say, you succeeded in getting people excited, you brought families together and you provided entertainment that is fun and a higher quality than the usual 'slasher, bloodlust garbage' found at 'horror nights' elsewhere. This was great. The only thing I would say would be to be careful when filming because I wound up getting a little motion sickness from the camera swinging around too quickly. Very creative. Must have been fun to make!

Hey thank you! For me, it’s mainly about the joy of building something, and the joy of watching people enjoy it. Someday though, we do have plans to do this off site and attempt to make a living doing it. Its truly what we love.
Well, I (and my girlfriend) were the first two visitors to the mansion on 8/9/1969! I was interviewed on the DVD "Making of the Haunted Mansion, volume one (which you can find here on youtube under "Extinct attractions") Anyway, I think that it is shamefull that a corporation as big as Disney, who makes about 17.7 trillion dollars a year) have to threaten fans with copyright, just for playing sounds of the mansion, which should have gone OUT of copyright after 50 years, LEGALLY!!! But you know those big corporations, with all their attornies, with nothing but time on their hands, like to beat up on their fans! Horrible way to run a business! You did a GREAT job, but would have loved to see the whole ride in the night..... (hint, hint)
Awesome, I believe I watched that. Is it also on Disney +? I don’t disagree at all. In fact, I think in a way we are ultimately helping them.

This is so awesome what a great job thanks for sharing! To keep your cut pumpkins to last longer use fruit cleaning spray on the cut areas! I know the Norwegian brand works and I assume other brands work too!

Thanks! As far as we know they all enjoy it. We try to consider the neighbors each year. If we have haters we don’t care, we receive permission from state that we can for whatever we want.

Thank you! Made the track (on another video on our channel) and found the wallpaper online, just googled red and gold damask wallpaper. The lower half of the panels I carved from styrofoam

Thank you so much! What started it all is a backyard roller coaster video I saw on CZcams. So I thought I would build our daughter one. Then that turned into a Halloween ride (after some major re-engineering) and that turned into a partial Haunted Mansion tribute!

Amazing job!! People truly don't know the time and effort to pull something like this off...years ago when I lived with my parents I would create haunted mazes. Real world question though, where I live I can see the town having an issue with this and without a permit, they could make me take it down. Do you worry about that and what about insurance in case some one gets hurt on the ride/your property?
Thank you! Awesome. I did go through the permit thing years ago but it was decided last yr that I didn’t need one. Its a state by state thing obviously. I’ve talked to others that have had issues. And every yr I boost our homeowners insurance for the season to make sure we are covered.
