    The movie her smell, was a rollercoaster. I already held Elizabeth In high regards as an actor, but damn the character of Becky Something was like getting struck by lightning in a sandstorm. Gritty and electrifying. Both of them are phenomenally talented and humble.❤️

    Elizabeth Moss' performance in Brandi Carlile's video "Party of One" was so amazing, stunning and as powerful as Brandi's voice and lyrics. It takes someone's special to convey emotions with such strength in just a glare. You can check it out here, I highly recommend the original video: czcams.com/video/FW5xe1FpDfQ/video.html

    Elisabeth commented on our anger. We were the cusp of change. We were not the peace and love hippies that went on to be our corporate parents, or even the starched shirt conservative parents. We were the first really out generation. We were angry because we had been taught one way, and then found another and the two didn't mesh. Reagan emptied the state run mental health facilities and made tens of thousands of people homeless. And they never opened again. Our gay men started dying of a plague that no one cared enough about to fund research. And they were our friends, our peers. The first billionaires were making their money, and Reagan decided to cut taxes because the money would miraculously trickle down and prosperity would come to even the poorest. We all know how that turned out. Health care costs were skyrocketing, and the first people started going bankrupt from medical bills in the age of insurance can cancel you for being sick. Mental health care was not available to those of us who could not afford it. A whole lot of us survived the self medication out of fear because of those who it killed. So yes, these few sentences and a hundred more. We were pissed off, bottom line, because we had been fed a line and handed a pile of crap to deal with. Us creatives, a lot of us decided it was better to burn out than to fade away. A whole bunch of us survived, and now we're a lot older and spending a lot of time looking back on the carnage and not regretting a moment of the wake up call we did give the world. From the shadows of our studio apartments on the low rent end of town.

    ~B feels everything like a true artist should. There's nothing wrong with emotions and don't let the duckers prescribe you so. It's a gift that I had to learn to wear comfortably. The listeners the fans like to see the true self as the true light as you are~1111 Peace be still. Pluck the sucker, pinch rather...more fruit. I wonder if she could do a song as the movie "girl interrupted"

    • @robynmiller-hicks9551
      @robynmiller-hicks9551 Před 5 lety +12

      She seems so well-rounded, though. It doesn't feel that she's on the end of the spectrum of Scientology where the extremists lie. If that makes sense...
      She seems incredibly down to earth, accepting, educated and empathetic. I get the feeling that she approaches the religion much like she probably approaches preparing for her roles....she just takes what she needs from it and applies it based on her own interpretation of the info she digests. Then just kinda tossed whatever doesn't necessarily apply after that.
      In my opinion, anyway. She doesn't come off as anything but genuine to me.

      @khristankyleg Před 3 lety +1

      I try to keep in mind that she was raised in it. Leaving the church of Scientology literally rips families apart. Even if she wanted to leave, she couldn't. It does suck though, because otherwise I ADORE her.

    • @alshpeller8382
      @alshpeller8382 Před 10 měsíci

      I 100% agree. She really seems like a caring person (at least based on other interviews I watched and read with her). She takes certain elements of Scientology that help her, and disregards the rest. To me she comes across as a strong personality, but definitely someone who you would want to have a drink or a coffee with.

    Don’t get these two together at all. Moss and Scientology stand against absolutely everything Brandi stands for and promotes. Seems somebody is a hypocrite here..............

    • @ashleyadams2403
      @ashleyadams2403 Před 4 lety +6

      I don’t think it’s a matter of hypocrisy. To me it seems to be a matter of looking past someone’s own background and beliefs to just focus on the incredible art they are making (both Brandi and Elizabeth). Even though we widely look at Scientology as a cult, and I too see it as rather cultish, I am not a hypocrite for wanting to commend and appreciate someone’s work. Neither is Brandi. When I open my mind, I’m able to see beyond people’s labels, and focus more on there actions is various facets of life.
